Crowd mentality and special treatment makes Guests think they are doing things the best way possible. Here are 5 things not to fall for at Disney World.
1. Thinking just because you qualify, you should do it. The Disney parks each have a new annual passholder entrance which is great most of the time. But a few times I have seen it with a line a lot longer than all the turnstiles around it. Don’t just head to the annual passholder entrance because you qualify for it. Assess it first!
2. Thinking Extra Magic Hours is a must do. For one hour a Disney Park opens an hour early (usually 8 AM – 9 AM). This is a great perk if you can actually get up and get to it. But a lot of Guests wake up hours later and still go to the Disney park that had early Extra Magic Hours because they think they are getting some fabulous perk when in reality they slept through it!
3. Going with the crowd. The crowd doesn’t know what it is doing. Just because a hundred people are doing it doesn’t mean it is the best way. Instead of continuing to go with the crowd, stop and assess the situation. Are the crowds following each other to a specific security checkpoint or Turnstiles? If you stop and look, you might find others completely empty because the crowd isn’t watching they are just going.
4. Not using both sides. Registers and Security Guards take Guests on both their right and left sides. Unless they are actively telling Guests this, sometimes they will all go to one side. It is perfectly acceptable to go to their empty side and skip ahead of a bunch of people.
5. Not going around people. Just because everyone is standing in a cluster does not mean that they are standing in the right spot. We were at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and there were about 20 people standing in front of the Fastpass+ entrance. However, I knew that was not where the line started. I went around all of these people and went down the ropes that mark the actual Fastpass+ entrance and skipped ahead of a bunch of Guests who had gotten in line behind the cluster! Turns out they were just waiting on their Fastpass+ to open and thought standing in everyone else’s way was a great idea.

Oh my gosh. We just got back from WDW in October 2018. While trying to get in fp line for flight of passage a lady was on her cell with her stroller and was standing about 10 ft from entrance with space in between. We assumed she was waiting on the rest of her party lol, wrong!!! she yelled at our group and was super hateful. We let her move foward and THEN when she hung up on her cell, she tells us to “go ahead in front of her bc she was waiting on her husband”
