If your like me, you enjoy the nicer things in life without the hefty price tag! I’m not a big makeup person. I have had the same powder for 8 months. However, I LOVE skincare products! In fact, last year one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to use everything I had even samples before I purchased one new product. Sounds easy right? It took me 8 months to get through everything. Towards the end I found myself using double what I should just to use up the product and be done with it.
The magic of Sephora is that it’s one of the rare places that you leave feeling like you have hung out with your girlfriends for the past half hour. Those ladies and gentlemen (my local store has a man working there and he is fabulous) are never pushy. They don’t work on commission or sales, because of that you never feel pressured to make a purchase. Sephora employees are continuously being trained on the latest skincare and beauty products. As well as how to apply makeup in various ways to appeal to everyone. That makes them beauty gurus!
Over the years I have learned little tricks to save on my purchases at Sephora. I am going to teach you how to shop at Sephora without breaking the bank.
1. Sign up to be a Beauty Insider. It’s their free rewards program. You will get a free birthday gift with deluxe samples. Every dollar you spend will earn you one point. It takes around 100 points to redeem a reward. The rewards do change every few months. As a Beauty Insider you can also signup for free beauty classes. Often times you will get a free gift at the end of the class. Usually it is a deluxe sample of the item featured in the class. These do tend to fill up fast. Check frequently for new classes and signup as soon as you see the class is available.
2. Purchase discounted gift cards for Sephora. You can purchase them from Raise (if you watch) for up to 10% off.
3. You can use JCPenney gift cards in Sephoras that are inside JCPenney stores. Often times you can find JCPenney gift cards for up to 15% off at Raise.
4. Ask for samples. You can get a sample of anything Sephora sells, even fragrances. This is great if you aren’t sure you will like something or whether it’s the correct shade for your skin tone. They will gladly make you a sample. Usually the samples are enough to last for a few days.
5. Check the sale section in store and online often. Just last week I found a Stri-Vectin $85.00 gift set marked down to $40.00.
6. Sephora mails out coupons for sample products often. Usually for a deluxe sample of a highlighted product. These samples do go fast. Each store only gets a few. You have to go on the day you receive the coupon or the following day, otherwise your chances of getting the item are slim to none.
7. Go thru cashback websites to earn up to 10% back. Check TopCashback, Ebates, Shop at Home, and Swagbucks and click through on the one offering the highest percent of cash back.
8. Return items you don’t love. Sephora has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You can return anything you have purchased with a receipt. Some stores will even let you make returns without receipts. Check with your local store to see what their policy is.
9. Make purchases during bonus earning periods. During these times you will earn double or more back for making purchases. These points earned will help you earn free rewards faster.
10. Buy gift sets to save money. Gift sets are great values. Often times they include a full size item and a few travel size items. Usually the gift sets cost around $15.00 more then the actual cost of one item. While the items are smaller size, they are a great deal considering you were going to buy the larger item anyway.
11. Buy Sephora brand items. The Sephora branded items will save you at least 25% and are very similar to the name brand cosmetics sold at Sephora.
Disney Springs has its very own Sephora. It is the largest Sephora I have been in to date. Its huge! They do sell unique Disney cosmetic items. If you are a Sephora lover like me make sure you stop by.
