Remember when we talked about found money?
One of the places that found money loves to populate is the mail. This is actually my favorite variety of found money, because it requires me to do the least amount of work. All I have to do is check my mail and voila, magic money is sent right to my door. Free money is great money, but free surprise money is the best money.
Part of this week’s small but mighty deposit came to me, as the best found money does, through the mail. It was a small check from a settlement involving Angie’s List. I’ll be honest, I have only the haziest memory of submitting a claim, and it seems to me that whatever claim I did make was about 300 years ago. That tends to be the way of the settlement checks, no? You submit a claim, forget all about it, and then magic money arrives at your doorstep whenever it feels like it. While $3.92 may not seem like much, you know how I look it at. That’s 3/5s of a Mickey Bar paid for. And 3/5s of a Mickey Bar is better than no Mickey Bar.
Do you take the time to submit claims? You don’t even have to seek them out! Couponing to Disney does a great job of alerting its readers when companies are doing settlements. Often times, the forms are quick and done completely over the internet. It really couldn’t be any simpler.
Total Goal: $3500
Total Deposit: $28.92
Angie’s List Settlement- $3.92
Paypal Deposit from Swagbucks-$25
Still Need: $3083.11
Has any magic money found its way to you through the mail recently? How is your fund going? Tell me all about it in the comments!
