Heard any good Free Dining rumors lately? Word on the inter webs is that Free Dining will get released sometime next week, and like all of the Disney Fandom, I am waiting for that release with baited breath.
Not least because, even if we don’t manage to score Free Dining, some pretty good room discounts are usually released at the same time, so hopefully there will be some money saved, one way or the other.
You might think this wouldn’t matter, since I’m so close to meeting my goal and I still have 2.5 months until my final payment is due. But the truth of the matter is, until the day my final balance is due I am always, repeat ALWAYS, looking for ways to save a penny.
Because when I get there? I don’t want to worry about pennies.
And you shouldn’t have to worry about pennies either. We spend all year thinking about every nickel and dime, hustling at our jobs or side hustles, adding to the Disney Fund with cash back and survey site earnings. Let’s be real, we work our tails off for these vacations. When we get to that castle, we have earned the right to eat with princesses without fretting, enjoy a dessert party without weighing the cost, and buy a rose filled tumbler with no guilt.
To do that, we gotta save till we can’t save no more.
Actually, even then, we’ll keep saving.
Because there is next year’s Disney trip to think about!
I know, I know, I’m being crazy. I haven’t even taken this trip and I’m already thinking about the next one. But is it crazy? Disney vacations, as we all know, don’t pay for themselves. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little bit already in the fund before you even need to start seriously thinking about it?
Thinking about Free Dining has got me wondering what we’ll do if we end up coming in under budget. I know it’s a long shot, but it’s fun to think about. If there are a few extra bones at the end of the day, where will they go? Should we add an experience? Roll over that money to our next Disney trip? Up our souvenir budget?
By next week’s Fund Deposit, Free Dining will (hopefully) have been released and we’ll know one way or the other. Be it the dining promotion or a room discount, our vacation (and its budget) will be officially set. We can decide what to do with those extra, imaginary dollars then.
Total Goal: $3500
Last Week: $200.38
Total Deposit: $13.41
$10, Target Giftcard from Playground Crew
$3.41, leftover from the grocery budget
Still Need: $186.97
What do you do if you come in under budget? What do you think I should do if I come under budget? Give me your wisdom in the comments!
