The Haunted Mansion offers guests spooky fun all year long. Ride in your own Doom Buggy through a mansion filled with Happy Haunts. Out of all attractions at Disney World, the Haunted Mansion may just contain the most detail and secrets. Today learn 5 hidden facts of The Haunted Mansion (until now). The story of the Haunted Mansion actually begins outside, with details incorporated into the queue and more.
1. Footprints
Look for footprints in the concrete of the queue. They are footprints of the Caretaker and his dog too. Another little known fact, look for the dog door that leads into the building.
2. Composer’s Cript
There is a name written on the Organ that readsĀ Ravenscroft. It stands for, Thurl Ravensccroff , he was a voice actor in many Disney movies. He also sings the Grim Grinning Ghosts. Also note the spirits rising up the organ, they match the spirits rising up the organ on the attraction!

3. One Eyed Cat
A one eyed cat was proprosed for the original version of this attraction, with a ghost host to warn us about the creature who did not like humans. Guests were to come face to face with the one-eyed cat later in the attraction in a spooky scene, however it was cut from the version before opening.
4. Sea Captain Culpepper Clyne
Another scene and character cut from the attraction is the Sea Captain. It was going to be a scene featuring the sea Captain surrounded by water, when all the sudden a ghost flies by guests. However, guests can find a tribute to this character in the queue, and see his tomb, at the Haunted Mansion. The idea came from legends, Rolly Crump and Yale Gracey of Disney.
5. Number 13
The Number 13 is incorporated into the attraction, a common superstition. In the queue – each section of the bookshelf contains 13 books and on the organ there are pipes, as just a couple examples. Furthermore, if you ever pass by The Haunted Mansion and it contains a 13 minute wait, this is a lucky thing! As this indicates a little to no wait time. Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios does this as well.
