Guests heading to stay on-site at Disney World may also consider a day or 2 at Universal. The question then becomes, how to get to Universal Orlando from a Disney World Resort? Luckily for guests, there are many options. Here are 5 Ways To Travel From A Disney World To Universal Orlando.
1. Mears Transportation
Mears Transportation is a shuttle service that will pick up at your Disney Resort and drop off at Universal Studios Orlando. A shuttle back is also provided in the cost. Easily check prices on the Mears reservations page.
Price Example: Disney Movie Resorts to Universal Orlando for 4 passengers, cost is $53 Flat Rate (includes both ways) for a luxury SUV, Van or Sedan (priced for a Friday in Summer 2019).
2. Destinations In Florida Offer
Book through Destinations in Florida Travel for a ticket with transportation option. This provides guests with transportation from your Disney Resort to Universal Orlando, and vice versa. One of guests favorite travel deals is being able to bundle select Universal Orlando theme park tickets with roundtrip transportation. This convenience is for guests who are staying at a Disney Resort.
3. Uber
Uber is a great frugal option. One great feature is the ability to book rides with car seats for little ones.
Price Examples May 2019 (One-Way, All Star Movies To Universal Orlando):
- UberX: $18-24
- Select: $38-50
- UberXL: $28-37
- Black: $56-74
- UberX Car Seat: $26-32
- UberXL Car Seat: $36-45
How To Save: Look for new user promo codes to use upon sign up. Also, get your family or friends to sign up under your code (found under Free Rides in app menu), then earn $5 per sign up.

4. Lyft
An alternative to Uber, is Lyft. Do note, this is separate from the Minnie Van transportation provided by Lyft, which is for on Disney World property use only.
Price Examples May 2019 (One-Way, All Star Movies To Universal Orlando):
- Lyft: $18
- Lyft Plus: $29
- Lux SUV: $29
- Premier: $38
How To Save: Look for new user promo codes to use upon sign up. Also, get your family or friends to sign up under your code and get a free ride, when your friend takes their first ride (promo subject to change).
5. Rent A Car
Guests can also look into cost for renting a car. However, keep in mind Parking Costs at Disney World. To rent a car for more than a few days easily will run you $200 or more, plus the cost of parking. Unless you plan on visiting more than just Disney World and Universal Orlando, I would recommend not renting a car. Disney World provides complimentary transportation to all theme parks and more, for on-site guests.
