Disney World understands that food is crucial to a perfect vacation. The snacks and meals offered at Disney are also often nostalgic for guests. Learn more about food & beverage experiences, while tasting your way, with the Taste of Magic Kingdom Park VIP Tour. Here are 7 things to prepare guests for this tour.
1. Age Requirement
There is an age requirement to attend this tour. Guests must be 16 years and older to attend. Additionally, guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, adult or legal guardian at all times and have a waiver signed by them. All guests will have to sign a waiver themselves if 18+.
2. Dress Appropriately
This is a 3-Hour walking tour. Guests will be outdoors at times, check weather for your day of visit and dress accordingly. Guests should note there are attire restrictions. Not permitted are: heels, clog-style shoes, any shoe without a closed heel or open-end. Walking shoes recommended. Also recommended are short-sleeve or long-sleeve tops.
3. Get Inside Knowledge
Learn how the amazing food & beverage options are created by Magic Kingdom chefs, who serve millions of guests yearly! Plus, hear behind the scene stories from cast members and chefs. Guests will get the history of food in Disney Parks to the present look at new menu items.
4. Taste Your Way
Come hungry. Guests will have the chance to sample foods such as: Mickey-shaped cinnamon rolls and the Grey Stuff from Be Our Guest Restaurant and more. If sweet isn’t your thing, savory samples are offered during tour as well. Samples offered change seasonally. Furthermore, sample a menu item that is still in development! Do note, foods offered are for a wide appeal of tastes, however preferences and restrictions cannot be accommodated.
5. Backstage Access
Offered for the first time, this tour includes exclusive access to more than one backstage kitchens and working areas. Prior to this tour, these areas were unseen by guests. Guests will truly have a first-hand look at the inner workings of Magic Kingdom kitchens.
6. Not Allowed Backstage
There are a couple things not allowed in the backstage areas that are allowed on the remainder of the tour. Such as, guests with service animals are welcomed to bring them on the tour, however service animals are not permitted in backstage kitchen areas. Additionally, photography is allowed and welcomed during tour except during backstage (no cell phone or video equipment or cameras may be used while backstage). Furthermore, if guests are feeling ill (diarrhea, vomiting, sore throat with fever etc.), they are asked not to take the tour.
7. Essentials & Cost
This tour is offered at Magic Kingdom on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Cost is $99 per person (+ tax). Valid admission to Magic Kingdom also required. Guests on the dining plan, entitlements can NOT be redeemed. Guests are asked to check in 15 minutes prior to start time at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom.
