Next time you visit Epcot at Disney World it could look a lot different than it does now! Epcot is undergoing a multi-year transformation to make the park more relevant and exciting for guests. Here are 21 Reasons Epcot Will Look Different, naming upcoming New Attractions, Restaurants & Updates.
1. Disney Skyliner Transportation (September 29, 2019)
Disney Skyliner is a new mode of Gondola transportation coming to Disney World. Disney Skyliner will connect guests to 4 Resorts and 2 Parks at Disney World. Offering incredible views of Disney World, including never before seen angles of Epcot’s World Showcase. Guests will ride in a gondola featuring favorite Disney Characters from movies & attractions. Each cabin can hold up to 8 Adults. The gondola will be able to accommodate wheelchairs & strollers.
2. Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience (Late 2019)
This new Experience Center will open late 2019 in Epcot. Here, guests will be able to get sneak peaks of upcoming projects at Disney World and learn more about Epcot’s transformation. The Odyssey Events Pavilion will house the new Experience Center.
3. Epcot Forever At Epcot (Fall 2019)
Previously announced, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will come to a end. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will run through summer 2019. Then a new show will debut at the World Showcase Lagoon immediately after IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth ends. Epcot Forever will be a limited time experience for guests of Epcot. Epcot Forever starts as a spark of the imagination, turning into much more with a fireworks spectacular, lasers, lighting, music and special effect kites. The music featured will be classic Epcot tunes and is a limited time show.
4. Space 220 Restaurant (Winter 2019)
Mission: Space pavilion is getting an expansion with a new restaurant run by Patina Restaurant Group, named Space 220. Come for an out of this world experience, both with views and food. Guests will see daytime and nighttime views of Earth from the panorama vantage point of a space station from 220 miles up! See the 220 name connection there?! This restaurant was first announced at the 2017 D23 Expo!
5. Beauty and the Beast Sing Along (January 2020)
The France Pavilion is getting a brand new Beauty and the Beast sing-along. It will play in addition to, Impressions de France. This new experience is created by Don Hahn, the producer of the 1991 animated and the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast!
6. Awesome Planet Film In The Land Pavilion (January 2020)
The Land Pavilion at Epcot is getting a new addition, “Awesome Planet”. Awesome Planet is an on-screen cinematic experience about the wonder and beauty of our earth. Coming to the former Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable location.
7. Canada Far and Wide (January 2020)
Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 opens in the Canada pavilion January 2020.
8. Wondrous China (Expected 2020)
The China Pavilion is getting a new Circle-Vision film, named Wondrous China. Look forward to new scenes and locations in a 360-degree format.
9. Harmonious (2020)
Coming 2020 will be a permanent Epcot nighttime spectacular. The new show celebrates how Disney music inspires, featuring large floating pieces, choreographed moving fountains and custom-built LED panels. Along with music, lights, lasers and fireworks, named Harmonious. This will be the parks largest nighttime show ever!
10. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (Summer 2020)
A Ratatouille experience coming to Epcot’s France pavilion. It will be a trackless ride and based on the Ratatouille: The Adventure attraction currently found at Disneyland Paris.
11. New Crepes Restaurant In The France Pavilion (Summer 2020)
A new Creperie is coming to the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. In an all-new location (near the upcoming Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure) guests are invited to experience the crepe. This location will offer table service and quick-service dining as well. Guests can grab sweet crepes and galettes to go. Food is led by Chef Jerome Bocuse. The new Creperie is still unnamed, look for this and an opening season to be announced soon.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
In the World Discovery neighborhood at Epcot guests can look forward to a thrilling family-friendly attraction named Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! This will be a never before seen, storytelling (and rotating) coaster When completed, this attraction will be among the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters. This attraction will be housed in a brand new building, adjacent to the Universe of Energy building.
13. Moana Inspired Attraction
Coming to Epcot is a new attraction named, Journey of Water. This will be Disney’s first ever attraction inspired by Disney’s Moana. Guests will have the chance to interact with magical, living water in an inspiring setting. Above is the concept art for this exciting update.
14. Mary Poppins Attraction
The United Kingdom pavilion in Epcot will be home to the very first attraction inspired by Mary Poppins! Come to Cherry Tree Lane to see the Banks house with this attraction, in a new neighborhood in the Pavilion.
15. New Look For Entrance At Epcot (No Completion Date Yet)
Epcot’s main entrance is getting a new look. New pathways and a reimagined water fountain will be added, as well as more trees & flowers. Furthermore, the Leave A Legacy photos are being moved outside Epcot’s gateway.
16. Play Pavilion At Epcot (2021)
A play pavilion, currently unnamed, is coming to the former Wonders of Life pavilion, it will house an innovative city and opportunities for fun play. Guests can expect to find interactive experiences, entertainment and Disney Characters! This will be an unprecedented pavilion. The new pavilion will be open in time for Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
17. Four Neighborhoods!
Epcot will become 4 neighborhoods: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery. World Showcase will continue to showcase culture, cuisine and more. Plus, new experiences await guests.
18. Spaceship Earth
Epcot’s park icon will remain, however the attraction inside will get new scenes and a new narration focusing on the universal nature of the human experience.
19. Dreamers Point
World Celebration in Epcot will get a new interactive fountain, lush gardens and a wishing tree. Plus, look forward to a new statue of Walt Disney!
20. New Pavilion
World Celebration in Epcot will be home to a new pavilion, becoming a home base for Epcot’s festivals. Plus, this 3-level structure will be the perfect new spot to see Epcot’s nighttime spectacular. Furthermore, the building will be one of the most remarkable designs found within a Disney park and become a park icon.
21. Regal Eagle Smokehouse (Expected Late 2019)
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will feature craft brew on tap and food prepared by a large smoker. This modern BBQ Smokehouse will also feature an updated patio for guests. Located at the former Liberty Inn location at the American Adventure pavilion.
