Getting Started Couponing: Using a Coupon Clipping Service

in Getting Started Couponing

Ever wonder how people get so many coupons? A lot of them get them from coupon clipping services. These are companies that charge you a handling fee to cut, sort and mail you the coupons of your choice.

Here are the services that my readers and I use:

1. Coupons & Things By DeDe

2. The Coupon Clippers

3. My Coupon Hunter

When using a coupon clipping service, always make sure you are purchasing the right coupons. And make sure you allow enough time to receive the coupons before the sale ends. You might want to email a few of them and ask them where they mail from to get a good idea of when you might receive them.

Do you use a coupon clipping service? Any tips you can share with us?

If you are new to Couponing, you might want to take a moment to read more in my Getting Started Couponing series.

If you plan on using a clipping service, make sure you double check that you are purchasing the correct coupon. I bought 50 coupons from one of the above services listed and she would not exchange them for the one I needed. It was my mistake but a waste of money on my part.

I use Rebecca’s Coupons & Forms. She is very efficient and is a joy to work with. The website is http://www.couponsandforms.com.

I have been using mycouponhunter and have had no problems. I usually get them with in 4days.
I did a mistake on an order, but it ended up working on, since the ad said assorted. I do agree make sure you double check you order.

I have used this one a couple of times and been happy with the service. Our paper stopped carrying the RP so I had to look into other options. These people get most of the good .75/1 coupons vs 1.00/2. Just wish the shipping could be cheaper but I know there is nothing they can do about that. It would be great if you had a friend in the area to combine orders with.

I love http://www.wholecouponinserts.com too. They send out things VERY quickly and you know BEFORE you order exactly what is in order. If you only need ONE specific coupon, it’s not for that. But if you want multiple copies of the whole inserts, then this is for you! I subscribe to one copy of my local paper in order to get the sale flyers then purchase the rest of my coupons here. It’s not much more (with shipping) than going out and buying extra copies of the paper. Plus, Sundays are so busy for me that it’s hard for me to get to the store.

I use Sarah at http://www.madcoupons.net/ . I pre-order my coupons at the beginning of the month and pay $10.50/week for 10 copies of each insert, no matter how many inserts there are. I use way more than $10.50/week of coupons at Kroger and CVS so this is a really good deal for me. Plus, I don’t drive and the buses in my town don’t run on Sundays so now I don’t have to worry about being able to get copies of my newspaper!

I have nothing but great things to say about Sarah. You don’t have to preorder at the beginning of the month, but that’s the only way to guarantee that she won’t run out of copies before you order them.

I use http://www.collectablecoupons.com. I buy whole inserts and clipped coupons from them. Usually have them by Wednesday if I order before Monday. Nothing but good things to say about them!

I get the monthly subscription on mycouponhunter.com and LOVE IT!!!! She is so efficient and knows her stuff! I’ve never had any problems, and would recommend her to anyone. I get my coupons in 3 business days. It’s great it an upcoming sale is coming up and instead of buying several newspapers, you can just order your specific coupon, it saves me money, LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Question: Is there somewhere where you can sell the coupons you don’t need? I probably only use a third or so of the coupons I get. Sometimes when I think about it, I try to leave the coupons I know I won’t use next to the products but that adds to the time I end up spending in the grocery store.

don’t forget it is illegal to buy and sell coupons- you can only charge for the cost of cutting and mailing them- you can sell them on Ebay if you word it like this

yup, that’s why I stopped buying entire inserts. I love the convenience but I worry about a crackdown. =(

I do not buy papers anymore. Usually I lose money buying papers. I will buy 10 of one coupon for something and is much cheaper than 10 papers.

i guess i don’t get this part of couponing….. i refuse to pay for coupons regardless if they are already cut…. isn’t buying them defeating the purpose?? heck i don’t even buy a paper……i get the inserts free from the post paper

Candice – When you spend 5c for a coupon and it saves you a $1, that is 95c you wouldn’t of saved otherwise. :)
People mainly use clipping services to get like 10-20 of the same coupon or to get coupons that they didn’t get in their area. I would never pay 50% face value for a coupon, but 5% to 10% of it’s value isn’t bad. You have to really know what you are doing and not buy coupons you wouldn’t use.

I used to think the same thing and would print a lot of online coupons, but the cost of paper and ink adds up too.

i guess that makes a little more sense…. right now i won’t need one…. free newspapers and my apt complex has 2 computers to print from (if i need more i go to the library….down the rd)…but maybe when we FINALLY pcs i’ll use one (lol we were supposed to be outta here last sept)

How do you know which coupons you need to order a lot of? I am still kind of new to this, and am interested in doing this rather than buying 5 papers. I don’t like to buy a whole paper just to get the coupons out of it. Can you give me some examples of types of coupons you order and what you use them for? thanks! I really really need to be able to save more at the grocery store. I’ve gone from spending 150 per week to only spending 90-100, and I’m still working on my stockpile slowly but surely, but I want to be able to cut it to 50-60 a week if possible!

I’ve used mycouponhunter and thecouponclippers. I’ve had good experiences with both, usually getting the coupons within two or three days. Lately, I prefer mycouponhunter because there’s no minimum order. I’m intrigued by the idea of ordering whole inserts. I haven’t tried that yet, but it seems like it’s right up my alley.

I have only used eBay. It just works for me. @tanya, I order extra when there are coupons for things that I always use such as formula, danimals, diapers, etc. Also, by checking the blogs you can usually know what is on sale at your stores before the sale begins. Even if you order on the first day of the sale, you should receive it by the last day of the sale. It has never taken longer than 5 days for me to receive q’s I have ordered on eBay, I only order from people with quite a few sales and almost perfect feedback.
Do any of you pay crazy money for formula checks? I just don’t understand the people on ebay who will pay 18.00 for 20.00 worth of formula checks! This is for similac also so they could have just used a 3 dollar coupon! I have seen the q’s for the free simplepac at over 18.00! Really? Sorry to go off subject:)

My wife uses a coupon clipping service at http:// http://www.blisscoupons.com She orders several identical coupons to use during an upcoming sale. It’s a great way to save money instead of buying the newspaper.

Kristin, http://www.blisscoupons.com has an affiliate program too – you should put them on your list. You could probably earn a little extra income directing buyers to their site.

My wife just started a coupon clipping site, I hope you don’t mind me posting it here but it is at http://www.bigdealalert.com I am a pastor of a small new church and she uses this to help raise money for our church. Our minimum is only 3 of each coupon and most all the coupon finding and clipping fees are just 0.10 cents each, and of course the coupons are free! Shipping is only 0.99 cents and we ship within 24 hours except for weekends. Btw my name is Dave and my wife’s name is Erin, she has put a lot of work into it so I just want to help her get the word out about her new coupon clipping service

I came across a web site that would let me join to get free coupons inserts. I could get 40-100 inserts for 6-8 dollars a month. I can’t find it anymore. Do you know of any websites like that. That would be the cheapest way to get coupons. Please let me know what you find.
