RunDisney Princess Half Marathon This Weekend: The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals returns to Walt Disney World Resort on February 18-21. The sold-out race is expected to draw more than 50,000 spectators and runners from the United States and several other countries around the world. This race weekend features Princess-themed entertainment and a health and fitness expo designed with the female runner in mind. The schedule is as follows:
- February 18-20: runDisney Health & Fitness Expo
- February 19-20 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Breakfast at Epcot
- February 19-20: runDisney Kids Races, Pasta in the Park Party at Epcot
- February 19: Disney 5K presented by Children’s Miracle Network
- February 20: Disney Princess Enchanted 10K presented by Children’s Miracle Network
- February 21: Disney Princess Half Marathon presented by Children’s Miracle Network
- February 21: Happily Ever After Party at Disney Springs
Here is some more news out of Walt Disney World this week:
- Disney Princess Half Marathon Merchandise: Per the Disney’s Parks Blog, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend returns to Walt Disney World Resort from February 18-21, 2016. With it comes several new commemorative products created especially for the event. Disney is offering returning favorites including long and short-sleeved apparel for both the overall weekend, Princess Half Marathon and Glass Slipper Challenge. These items include “I Did It” shirts, drinkware, Sweaty Bands, Bondi Bands, collectible pins, car magnets and more. Guests will also find shirts and car magnets for both the Disney Princess 5K and the Disney Princess Enchanted 10K races. There are a few new art programs this year including artwork titled “Run Princess Run” that’s included on apparel and accessories. Another art program, “Run Like the Princess You Are,” has stylized buildings of famous Disney Princesses. This merchandise is available at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex next weekend. The ever popular Dooney & Bourke bags will be available at the Expo too.
- Princess Promenade at Disney’s Grand Floridian: Cinderella host the Princess Promenade that starts in M. Mouse Mercantile shop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Guests ages 3–12 are invited to stroll down the grand staircase with Cinderella and participate in a waltz in the main lobby.
- Two New Character Experiences Coming Soon: Two new character greeting experiences debut this spring at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Coming to the Echo Lake district at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the all-new Celebrity Spotlight, the perfect place for a dream encounter with one of Disney’s latest stars. At opening, you are invited into the Celebrity Spotlight to meet lovable snowman Olaf, from Disney’s blockbuster film “Frozen.” Also opening this spring is “Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams,” located just off Commissary Lane near the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. Here you can join Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, as they’re living the dream as A-list Hollywood stars.
