Are you all set to jet on your next Disney vacation? If you are like many guests, one of their favorite perks of booking a resort on Walt Disney World property is using Disney’s Magical Express. Disney’s Magical Express is the FREE round trip transportation offered to guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. It transports you to and from your Disney resort magically, and a few hours later, your luggage appears in your room! Just like any other Disney service, the Magical Express still leaves us with questions. So to prepare you for your next use of Disney’s Magical Express, we are going to explore some of these today!
How do I know if I am eligible for using Disney’s Magical Express? Disney’s Magical Express has two requirements. First, you need to have a resort reservation at one of the on site Disney Resorts. Magical Express does not service Shades of Green, Downtown Disney hotels, the Swan, Dolphin, or other local Orlando hotels. Second, your flights need to arrive and depart at Orlando International Airport {airport code MCO}, not Sanford.
May I still use Magical Express, even if I booked my own flights? Absolutely! Disney is happy to transport you, for free, even if you booked flights on your own.
How do I set up my Magical Express? You can set it up over the phone with a Disney Castmember, your travel agent can do it for you, or you can add it through the Magical Express online form.
How does Magical Express know which bags are mine? Before you depart, Magical Express will mail you a letter with yellow tags in it. These go on your luggage to identify it as yours upon arrival into Orlando. Luggage with yellow tags is immediately set aside and taken to a separate area of the airport to be loaded onto transportation to your resort. It will not arrive in your room until about 4 hours after you land. If you have a flight that lands after 7PM, I suggest NOT putting the yellow tags on, and grabbing your bags from the luggage claim carousels. Take them to the Magical Express area yourself, and they will be transported with you and arrive at your resort when you do. That is much better than having them arrive in your room after 11PM that evening.
How long will it take me to get to my resort via the Magical Express? Wait time to board a bus can be zero to twenty minutes It just depends on when the last bus left for your resort area. The actual ride can be about half an hour. You may stop at other resorts, so plan on at least an hour from the time you board the bus to get to arrive at your resort.
