For our family of five, kids are 18, 15, and just turned 13 after we came home last week, I budgeted $55 a day per person which included lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, and tips. We ordered $50 of groceries to our room for breakfast, water, sodas, and some snacks like granola bars, and pop tarts. Our grand total for 9 days ended up being $42 a person per day. We never felt deprived, we ordered whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. The dining plan would have been nearly double what we spent.

Way too much food for us.
We eat breakfast, snacks in the park, and then dinner somewhere. Three meals a day is too excessive for us. We usually spend $100ish a day on food.

That is a huge amount of food! Our family never spends that much. My kids are 4 and 8 and the 3 of us can share a bounty platter. It is a ton of food.

That’s alot of food. We are a family of four as well. We also usually do a small breakfast like a bagel or cereal bar. Lunch is an early quick service then a snack and then dinner, table or quick service. Once during our stay we will have a character breakfast. The dining plan is definitely with it for us.

I find that we dont eat that much food when we are there. Usually have a cereal bar or cereal that we brought from home while waiting for the bus. Lunch and dinner are usually quick serve kids meals. Sometimes i will get an adult quick serve but often dont need it. Then maybe one snack and Free water throughout the day. We do try to get in at least one character meal. So i was thinking an avg of 55 a day for food for my daughter and I.

I agree. We have 3 kids all over 10. Our family will do breakfast, a snack later in the afternoon & then dinner. On the dining plan you get tons of food! If we aren’t on property we are in a condo, so we make a big breakfast & then pack some snacks & do dinner in the park.
