We had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Floridian for Emily’s birthday (yay for DVC points) and I made a major mistake. The outside temperature was about 95 degrees. I went to the pool with the kids and took off my shoes. The pavement was HOT. I had to race with my toddler to the pool.
I should have brought shoes that I could wear either in the pool or to the entrance of the pool. Lesson learned the hard way! My feet were on fire for the rest of the night and tender the next day.
There isn’t anything Disney could have done differently. It was my fault. Learn from this mistake and don’t do it yourself!

Same thing happened to me last June at the main pool at Coranado Springs , next time I will be taking them off right at the pool entrance.

Great advice! I burnt my feet in Vegas before you were born and I can still remember the pain! I thought all those who wore their sandals to the pool were sissies!
