Does it snow at Disney parks? Of course not at the Disney parks in Florida or California (or does it?). However, Disney has parks worldwide and the weather is not always sunny elsewhere. Learn how likely it is to snow at each Disney park worldwide and see photos of snow covered Disney.
Many of the photographs below are thanks to the Walt Disney Studios Christmas greeting cards, that used to come out yearly in the early days.
Above is a 1984 Disney Holiday Card depicting Tokyo Disneyland covered in snow. This moment was the first Disney park worldwide to be covered in natural snow and deserved a special photo. Characters were gathered with the Castle in the background. When this card was released in 1984, fans thought it was enhanced, however the snow is real! Photo was taken in 1983, after a rare blizzard came through.

A 1997 snowfall was captured in the holiday greeting above at Disneyland Paris. A blanket of snowfall on Le Château de a Belle au bois Dormant adds to the enchantment. Le Château de a Belle au bois Dormant translates to: The Castle of the Beauty in the Sleeping Wood, more commonly referred to as Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

A more recent snowfall of Disneyland Paris is depicted above, from January 22, 2019. It shows The Disneyland Paris Hotel and a landscaped Mickey with perfectly placed snow.

As indicated in the opening statement, guests may just find snow at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. However, it is artificial snow, magical without the cold. Guests at Magic Kingdom (Disney World) will find snowfall during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Main St USA. The Holiday season at Disneyland Resort will also bring magical snowfall on Main St USA at Disneyland park.
Likelihood of Snow By Disney Park:
- Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan – Japan does see 4 seasons of weather, and snowfall is more likely in Winter (starting November yearly), however snowfall is rare in Tokyo.
- Disneyland Paris in France – France can see extreme cold and some snowfall most likely to occur January-March.
- Hong Kong Disneyland in Hong Kong – With an average yearly low temperature of 50 degrees, snow is not seen in Hong Kong Disneyland.
- Shanghai Disney Resort in China – While it does snow in China, snow in Shanghai is a rare occurrence but not impossible.
- Walt Disney World Resort in Florida – During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Also find snow-theming at Blizzard Beach all year and see snowfall year round at the end of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in Hollywood Studios.
- Disneyland Resort in California – During the Christmas Season. Also see snowfall during Frozen – Live at the Hyperion in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure park.
