Here are my 10 best Disney tips of the week. These are just random things on my mind that I want to make sure you know.
- Pay attention and don’t follow the crowds. One of the major mistakes that people make on their trip is following the crowds thinking they must know what they are doing. Last week I waited for an hour at Epcot for it to open and no one lined up behind me because they weren’t paying attention. Instead they followed the crowds into other lines. Before you go with the masses, stop and look. They might be going the wrong way!
- Wear good shoes. I look at people’s feet as I walk through the parks. I have seen some crazy and very uncomfortable looking shoes! Go for sneakers that you have broken in before your trip. Your feet will thank you! Plus I made the mistake of wearing my Yellow Box Flip Flops last week and I was slipping in them because of all the sweat on my feet. Ewww!
- Prepare for the heat. It is so hot here in Florida. You need to make sure you are prepared for it. Pack light, reflective clothing (avoid black clothes!). You also need to bring items with you that will help with the heat such as handheld fans and towels for your neck. Also make sure you bring lots of sunscreen!
- Don’t eat heavy meals. With the hot weather here, the last thing you need to do is eat something heavy that is going to sit with you for a while. You will be so uncomfortable! Focus on light foods especially ones that can help quench your thirst like fruits.
- Frozen Ever After. This ride continues to be extremely popular at opening. If you weren’t able to get a Fastpass+ for it, you need to plan to get to the parks no later than 7:45 AM and head straight to the Frozen attraction when it opens.
- Don’t meet Anna and Elsa first. I was so very sad for this guest who decided to meet Anna and Elsa before going on the Frozen ride. By the time they got off, there was a 3 hour wait for the ride! Make sure you go on Frozen Ever After first and then meet Anna and Elsa.
- Score an extra Fastpass+ by playing a game. If you play A Pirate’s Adventure in Magic Kingdom, you can earn a bonus Fastpass+ for Pirates! It is a great way to occupy some time in the afternoon.
- Dine around 11 AM or 2 PM. The Counter Service restaurants are seeing heavy crowds around peak lunch time. Avoid the crowds by dining either before or after they hit the restaurants.
- See the 10:30 showing of Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire. It is way too hot to stand there and wait and watch this show. Aim for the earliest time so that you can spend the least amount of time in the sun.
- Got toddlers? Duck into the Baby Care Centers to escape the heat and let the Toddler relax. They have a small play area with books, coloring sheets and a Disney movie playing on the screen. Plus you can get cold water. It is also a great place to change their diaper.
