Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort share many similarities, and many key differences too. One is not necessary better than the other, each has its own charm with unique features. This list contains 10+ Things Found at Disneyland Resort & Not At Disney World. Sadly, #1 will NEVER exist at Disney World – at least not in the way it does at Disneyland Park.
1. Walt Disney’s Apartment
When walking down Main St USA at Disneyland Park, be sure to notice the Disneyland Fire Dept. building. Walt Disney had a secret apartment built for himself (plus family and close friends) inside the park! He wanted to be able to watch guests, without being in the limelight. Therefore the apartment sits on the 2nd floor of the Disneyland Fire Dept. building, where he would watch guests come through the front gate from the window. Today, a light sits in the window to honor Walt Disney.
2. Radiator Springs Racers
Venture into Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park to find Radiator Springs Racers. Guests 40″ and taller can race through Cars Land, inspired by Disney-Pixar Cars. This road race is fun for all as you are transported into the world of Cars. Notice the Cadillac Range mountains as you zoom over hills and around turns. Do you have what it takes to get first place?
3. Storybook Land Canal Boats
Anyone can enjoy a magical boat ride touring villages and homes from classic Disney movies. The details are simply amazing and models are scaled to one inch to one foot size. Guests will see The royal city of Agrabah and Cave of Wonders from Aladdin, Prince Eric’s palace and King Triton’s underwater Castle from The Little Mermaid and much more. Board your boat and listen to your tour guide as you drift on through this Fantasyland attraction at Disneyland Park.
4. Matterhorn Bobsleds
Another Fantasyland attraction found at Disneyland Park, and not Disney World, is the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Guests 42″ and taller will love this thrill ride, as they avoid the Abominable Snowman. Guests ride in a bobsled with an 80 foot climb into an icy cave, however the real fun part is the descend!
5. Blue Bayou Restaurant
Enjoy nighttime ambiance, any time of day, at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square. Sit back and relax while dining on Cajun and Creole cuisine. Plus, this restaurant has a fun feature, see guests on the attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean, boats float by as you dine. For added ambiance, there are strings of balloon lanterns in various colors hanging overhead.
6. Incredicoaster
Thrill seekers will love this steel roller coaster, located at Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park. Guests 48″ and taller will chase to catch Jack-Jack throughout their gripping coaster ride around Pixar Pier. The Incredicoaster tops out a 55 miles per hour, and the track stretches 6,072 feet!
7. World of Color
World of Color is one nighttime show you will find at Disneyland Resort and not Walt Disney World. This nighttime spectacular occurs at Disney California Adventure Park, outside at Paradise Bay. Watch Disney and Pixar film moments projected on a water screen. Plus fog, laser, fountain and fire effects. All of this occurs during a 28-minute long show all set to your favorite Disney music.

- Mike and Sulley to the Rescue at Disney California Adventure Park
- Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland Park
- Anna & Elsa’s Boutique at Downtown Disney
- Disney characters inside it’s a small world
- Find Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Snow White’s Scary Adventures at Disneyland Resort. Both attractions were once at Disney World also and have since closed.
- During the holidays Haunted Mansion transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday and it’s a small world also has a holiday version at Disneyland Resort.
