If you are traveling with a little one, there are 11 things you need to know about the nursery on Disney cruises.
- It’s A Small World Nursery is for children 1 to up to their 4th birthday. Children 3 years of age and older can go to the Oceaneers Club only if they are potty trained. Otherwise they come to the nursery.
- You are charged per half hour the child is in the nursery. The charge is applied to your stateroom account.
- You can book up to 10 hours of nursery time before your cruise. I highly suggest you consider booking your dinner seating time so that your little one can relax in the nursery and you can relax during your meal.
- Once you are onboard, you can add additional nursery time over the 10 hours you were allowed to pre-book.
- You may leave your child in the nursery when you visit Castaway Cay. Just take your wave phone.
- You may supply food and drinks for your child but they must be in their original packaging. You can not bring food in Ziplocs or snack cups.
- The nursery can provide a selection of snacks for your child upon request. Just inquire when you drop off your child.
- You may not take pictures of your child while they are in the nursery room. I got a lecture for this one!
- You may leave your stroller in the reception area of the nursery. They have a special parking area for it.
- When it is time to pick up your child, call ahead to see if they are asleep. If they are and the nursery has availability, you can leave your child until their nap is finished.
- If you enjoy the nursery Cast Members and want to tip them, don’t. They actually don’t get to see this money. Instead, bring prepackaged snacks with you to tip them with. They enjoy things that they can’t get on the ship.
