My Reader Jean has shared her Savings Report with us today, she is doing AMAZING!
My daughter started college this past September and because her
college vacation schedule doesn’t align with my son’s in High School
we had no plans for our normal February Disney Trip (she said she’d be
so sad if we went to Disney without her). A few weeks into her first
semester she called to say she was applying for the Disney College
Program and from application to acceptance was only two weeks!
Suddenly we realized we’d be heading to Orlando to deliver her to the
Mouse for her 2nd Semester of College.
We’re DVC but the week my son is off from school is President’s week –
that week if book-ended by the long holiday weekend and the Disney
Princess Marathon. Luckily we were able to secure the week, but will
have to do a split stay since there were no availabilities for
consecutive nights for the whole week.
Because this trip was initially unplanned for, I needed to turn to my

Since September, I’ve been able to save over $1300 to purchase Disney
Gift Cards. This was achieved through Swagbucks, Louder and a number
of different coupon/savings apps, From tips from your group I also
realized I had some banking and hotel rewards I could redeem to get
Target Gift Cards and, well you know they were converted into Disney
We also received a few different “overpayment” refunds from a few
sources in that time which I put into the fund as well. And it
doesn’t even include about $250 in change from our Vacation Jar! So
that will bring us close to $1600 in just 4.5 months!
As soon as I’m back the savings will begin again! Whoo Hoo!
