Ashley shared her Disney Savings Story with me, I just love this picture she took!
Hi! My name is Ashley and I commented on one of your pictures about
my savings on Disney gift cards. I paid for my family of 4’s entire
trip and had all our spending money in gift cards as well. I saved
over $500 by doing so.
So here is how I saved my money. First, I opened up a Target Red card
debit card, not to be confused with a credit card, which is linked to
your checking or savings account. It gives you 5% off all your
purchases at Target including the Disney gift cards. (It does exclude
pre paid Visa cards, not that you need to buy those at all, just an
FYI) This is where I hope I can explain, so it makes sense. For one
week Target ran a deal where if you bought any two gift cards you
would get a kick back of a $5 Target gift card (which you can use to
purchase more Disney cards). So, that being said, I would purchase 2
$25 Disney cards ($50 total) and receive a $5 Target gift card back as
well as get my 5% of my purchase at that time. So basically I paid $95
for every $100 worth of cards by purchasing them with my Target red
card, and would receive $10 in Target gift cards for every $100 in
Disney gift cards I purchased. After buying thousands of dollars in
Disney gift cards this way, I saved all those Target gift cards I got
to purchase MORE Disney gift cards. I hope I explained well enough.
This was by far my biggest savings ever!
