1. Cinderella’s Castle stands proud at 189 feet. If it had been one foot taller, they would have had to put a flashing red light on top to warn air traffic.
2. The clock on the front of Cinderella’s Castle uses IIII to indicate 4 instead of IV. This is because the IV symbol was not used until after the Colonial period.
3. Check out the five mosaics on the wall just inside the castle that depict Cinderella’s story. If you look closely, you’ll notice one of the step sister’s face is green with envy and the other’s is red with anger.
4. Starting about a half hour after the park closes (remember that if the park closes at 9pm, you have almost a full hour to leave the park), the Kiss Goodnight will begin. Cinderella’s Castle will appear to change colors as Roy O. Disney’s dedication speech for the Magic Kingdom plays thanking you for coming.
5. Also located within Cinderella’s Castle is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This boutique salon will transform your daughter into a Disney princess. Stop in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and ask the cashier to sprinkle your little girl’s head with Pixie Dust. You do not need an appointment to get sprinkled!
6. There is a penthouse located inside Cinderella’s Castle. For years it wasn’t used, but they transformed into into a two-bedroom “Cinderella’s Guest Suite.” It was used nightly during the Year Of A Million Dreams but since then it is only used for special occasions . You can not book Cinderella’s Guest Suite.
7. Just behind Cinderella’s Castle is Cinderella’s fountain (on the Fantasyland side). If you bow down in front of the fountain you will see a crown magically appear on Cinderella’s head!
8. Each night, Once Upon A Time light show uses the castle as it’s backdrop. It is an amazing light show so make sure you check your Times Guide for showtimes.
9. The castle is the center stage for the nightly performance of Happily Ever After. If the weather is permitting, Tinker Bell will fly from the top of the castle to the roof of the Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant. Pick a viewing spot where you can clearly see the wire that runs from the Castle to the restaurant.
10. If you want to take your little princesses and princes inside, you can dine at Cinderella’s Royal Table located on the second floor. There you will find Cinderella and her princess friends at every meal. If you are eating in Cinderella’s Royal Table, be sure to look up in the room where you meet Cinderella. You should see the Disney Family Crest and you might even spot Cinderella’s Mice in the rafters! I also hear you can ask the suite of armor for an autograph and get a funny reply.
