Do you really understand your dining plan? It is plenty of food for your family, gives you lots of locations to enjoy, and even gets your kiddos up close and personal with their favorite characters. However, if you are going to have a Disney Dining Plan on your reservation, you need to know exactly what you are entitled to and how to use it.
If I choose to visit a menu based Table Service restaurant, what is included in my meal? Each guest is entitled to an entree, non alcoholic drink and a dessert on the Disney Dining Plan. On the Deluxe Dining Plan, you are entitled to an appetizer, entree, non alcoholic drink, and dessert.
Which meals are the best to get the most out of my dining plan? I think this depends on you. Many people will say dinner because in general dinners are more expensive. However, my opinion is breakfast or lunches, especially if you are traveling with children. You may leave the park for a break and not come back in the evening as you thought you would. Or perhaps the wait times are lower in the evening and you don’t want to stop for dinner while you are enjoying attractions. Also, lunch provides a break from the heat and the opportunity to sit down with your family in the middle of the day when crowds are higher.
The stipulation for the buffets are confusing. They say “all you care to eat” but then say for one meal. What does that mean? That means that you are entitled to visit the buffet as often as you’d like for breakfast. It doesn’t mean you can return later in the day and enjoy lunch using the same dining credits.
I made dining reservations by calling Trex directly. May I still use my Disney Dining credits? Absolutely! Some guests have better luck calling the location directly for a special reservation time. You can still use your Disney Dining Plan credits even if you book it that way.
May I add a Disney Dining Plan to my package after my trip is paid in full? Yes. You can add a Disney Dining Plan to your Magic Your Way Package up to 24 hours in advance of checking in at your Walt Disney World Resort. To do so, you must pay the dining plan in full at the time you add it. Also, I highly recommend adding it 72-48 hours before check in, just to assure it is linked property to your package before you arrive at Walt Disney World.
