Here are 5 Disney Planning Tips you need to know:
Is Be Our Guest serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Be Our Guest accepts Advanced Dining Reservations for breakfast and lunch. If you have a breakfast or lunch reservation for Be Our Guest, it will be considered a Quick Service Meal, while dinner is still considered a Table Service Meal.
Should I utilize Disney’s Extra Magic Hours? I think you will find a lot of mixed reviews on this. My family personally loves to take advantage of the Evening Extra Magic Hours, and not the morning ones. I feel as if the park is more crowded during those morning Extra Magic Hours. However, in our experience, we have found that returning to the park after a midday break, around 4 or 5 PM and enjoying it late into the night works well for us. The park slowly empties, particularly after those first Main Street Electrical and Wishes showings. The lines for the rides are smaller after 9PM, in our experience. Our kids also love being up super late at the Magic Kingdom.
What is required to make an Advanced Dining Reservation? If you are staying onsite, you will need to link your Disney Resort Reservation in a My Disney Experience Account. At 180 days prior to arrival, you can begin making ADRs. Disney asks for a credit card number to guarantee your dining reservations, and in some cases may ask for prepayment. Cinderella’s Royal Table, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, as well as other dinner shows may require payment at time of booking if you do not have a Disney Dining Plan attached to your reservation.
How many days should I plan for my first Disney trip? I think that 5 days in the Disney parks is a great first step. Planning for no parks on your arrival and departure day is ideal, as well as 4-5 park days in between is a great way to spend time at Disney. I also highly suggest a rest day during your time there, to enjoy the resort, pool, and Downtown Disney.
Should I rent a stroller for my 6 year old? Yes, I do think so. Your 6 year old may be able to walk around you local zoo or small theme park with no issues. But Disney is much bigger than that! Also, you should account for navigating crowds. It is easier to plop your 6 year old in a stroller and navigate Main Street USA than trying to navigate the crowd, hold his/her hand, and you’ll get where you want to go faster.
