We went to Hollywood Studios today. It was the first time we have been to the parks since early November. It was a perfect day to go! The weather was 72F with a slight breeze. The crowd was fairly light too.
1. Choose a turnstile near the turnstile dedicated to early dining reservations. We got to the park at 8:30 and were in the back of a line of about 40 people. But I knew they would open the early dining reservations turnstile when they opened the park, so we were able to jump behind 3 other guests and be one of the first ones into the park.
2. Line up on the far right if you have a stroller and are heading to Toy Story Mania. Once you are in the park at the end of Hollywood Boulevard where they hold you for Toy Story Mania, make sure you are on the far right side. When they begin to walk you back, hug the right side and veer down in front of Hollywood Brown Derby. Continue to hug the right side. As you approach Toy Story Mania, you will drop your stroller off on the right just before the entrance. I also recommend having your bags off the stroller before you get to the parking area to make exiting fast.
3. Aim for the volcano lava balloons. When you get to the balloon popping scene on Toy Story Mania, aim for the volcano lava balloons. Pop everyone that you see. Once you’ve popped all of them, the volcano will explode and high point balloons will float down.
4. Meet Moana. She is currently greeting Guests at One Man’s Dream. They have set it up like a scene from the movie complete with sand looking carpet. Molly Kate was trying to dig in it today. It was so sweet!
5. Look for little moments. While we were waiting for the next showing of Disney Junior: Live on Stage, we found a small toy set up in the store close by. Molly Kate spent 10 minutes dressing Minnie Mouse in multiple outfits. She really enjoyed it (and thankfully it is the toy she is already getting for Christmas!).
The weather today was absolutely fabulous. The crowds were light (it was just a 10 min wait for Star Tours at 10:45). We stayed until 11:30 and then headed home.
I hope this helps you with your trip planning and expectations!
