It just isn’t possible to see and do everything on your first trip. That’s why you have to keep coming back for more! Here are 5 things most guests miss on their first trip to Walt Disney World:
Pick-A-Pearl – In the Mitsukoshi store in Japan you’ll find a Pick-A-Pearl station where you can choose an oyster from the tank and keep the pearl found inside. The Cast Member will open your oyster with much fan fare and then measure the pearl found inside. You can also pick from different settings for your pearl starting at $10.
Harmony Barber Shop – Located on Main Street is a real working barber shop. Babies can get their first haircut here that comes with a set of their very own Mickey ears. Children can also get pixie dust added to their hair.
Tri Circle D Ranch at Ft. Wilderness – This ranch is home to Cinderella’s Ponies and the majestic horses of Main Street, U.S.A.. Visit in the afternoon and you’ll have a chance to see the horses after they have put in their morning stint in the parks. You can experience Pony Rides, Wagon Rides, Horseback Trail Rides and Carriage Rides.
Paths around the Tree of Life – Hidden in the foliage around the Tree of Life are a number of paths that will take you right up to the base of the tree. The carvings from the tree extend down into the paths giving you an up close look at this amazing focal point of the park.
Visit Club Cool to try Beverly – Don’t scurry past Club Cool, but take your family inside for their chance to try Beverly. Be sure to have the camera ready as they take their first sip.

I did Pick a Pearl on my first trip and I got a black pearl which is the rarest one. The cast members were very impressed. It was so fun.

I have done pick a pearl 3 times. The first and third time I got twins. The second time I got an 8mm and the cast members were amazed by the amount of luster. We love it. ‘Sun’ ‘Knee’ ‘Itchy’

We love Pick A Pearl. My granddaughter spends most of the time we’re waiting for our turn trying to choose which oyster she’s going to choose.
We buy pearl cages on Amazon to make the cost a lot cheaper. Granddaughter’s pearl is in a Cinderella’s carriage cage pendant. Makes for a nice conversation piece necklace.

totally agree about the pick a pearl… awesome and fun. Just went on a “Princess” trip with my girls 28 and 21. We have been to Disney a few times, but they wanted to try new experiences, so picking a pearl was great! Both were celebrating their Bdays and BOTH picked oysters that had 2 Pearls!!! The workers were Sooo excited for them and said that happens very rarely, to have them picked back to back. worked out great…they got necklaces and surprised me with earrings!! Go do the pearls!

I did this on our trip. I actually picked two and got a blue pearl in one. We gave them away as gifts to our moms. I will definitely do this again

My pearl ring is my FAVORITE Disney souviner! Every time I wear it I think of the wonderful memories made there. My total was around $60 for the pearl AND the ring setting. Not bad at all!

I found the pick a pearl not that fun. The pearl is
In plain glass tank nothing special there was only
A few in there to choose from. It just didn’t feel
Disney special

The pearls are in live oysters. They have to be in a glass tank in order to stay alive. The fun is in “inspecting” the oysters in the tank & trying to figure out which one will give you the biggest, nicest, pink, black, blue, whatever pearl. Then comes the anticipation of waiting to see what kind of pearl you’ll be getting. We love doing it & they make nice gifts.
