Magical Express is Disney’s complimentary motorcoach transportation system for flying guests of a Walt Disney World Hotel. This service tranports guests from the Orlando International Airport to select Disney World Resorts (and back). Here are 5 things you may not have known about Disney’s Magical Express!
1. Luggage Delivery Can Take Hours
Included with your motorcoach transportation is complimentary luggage delivery. When guests receive their Magical Express information in the mail, a yellow luggage tag will be provided. Place tags on your luggage and it will be delivered to your room. However, many guests do not realize it can take hours for the luggage to actually be delivered to your room. Therefore, if you have a later flight, to avoid a knock at the door in the middle of the night, take your luggage with you (and do not attach yellow tags). There is room for luggage storage underneath the busses. Your driver will load and unload for you, it is a nice gesture to tip when they handle your luggage.
For guests who do not mind waiting and plan on hitting the parks or other after arrival anyway, pack a bathing suit in your carry-on in case. Then if you feel like a swim, before your luggage arrives, you will have that option. Also, be sure to attach those yellow tags if you are having your luggage delivered by Disney. These guests will be able to by-pass luggage claim at the airport.
2. Luggage Delivery Is Only For Guests Arriving At Certain Hours
Luggage Delivery is provided for guests arriving between 5am-10pm. If you are arriving before or after those hours you will need to take your luggage with you. This also means not putting on the yellow luggage tags and picking up your luggage from baggage claim before heading to the Magical Express.
3. Magical Express Requires A Reservation
While Magical Express is a complimentary service, it does require a reservation. Do not get stuck at the airport! Instead, when you reserve your Disney World vacation also reserve your Magical Express transportation. Guests can call 407-939-1936 (USA & Canada). Guests will need to know their flight information to reserve. Of course, if you use a Travel Agent, they will do this for you!
4. Do Not Pack Your MagicBands In Checked Luggage
MagicBands are important to have on hand during your Disney vacation, and this begins at the airport. Therefore, do not place MagicBands on checked luggage. Your MagicBand is how you will check into Disney’s Magical Express (at Terminal B, Level 1). For guests picking up MagicBands at their Disney Resort, simply let a Magical Express cast member know and they will help.
5. Resort Airline Check-In Services Available
Guests are automatically enrolled in Resort Airline Check-in with their select Disney Resort stay and participating airline. This little known service allows guests to skip the airport check-in process completely! Instead, get your boarding pass and check your luggage all from your Resort before you even head to the Airport. For flights after 12pm, boarding passes are delivered to your room on departure day. Guests can also choose to have luggage loaded on motorcoach.
