Rain scares people. It is a surefire way to experience low crowds because most people will head back to the resorts. You need to come to the parks prepared for the rain so that when it does start you can just keep on going. Here are 5 Walt Disney World attractions to visit in the rain.
1. It’s A Small World in the Magic Kingdom – This attraction is approximately 14 minutes. The queue is covered and the wait is usually 20 minutes or less. Combine a small wait with the length of the ride and the rain might just stop by the time you finish.
2. Dumbo in the Magic Kingdom – If you have little kids, this is a great place to duck. While Dumbo likely won’t be flying during the rain, the playground inside remains open. Kids can run and play while mom and dad sit on the bleachers. There are even a few outlets where you can charge your phone (if you were prepared and brought your charger with you).
3. The Lion King Show in Animal Kingdom – If it starts to rain or you can tell it is coming soon, head into the next showing of The Lion King. It will last 30 minutes and it might be long enough for the rain to stop. Then go straight to Kilimanjaro Safaris to see if they are operating yet. Visiting the safari right after a rain storm is one of the best times to see the animals.
4. The Land Pavilion in Epcot – This pavilion is home to Soarin’, Living with the Land and the Circle of Life show. It also has Sunshine Seasons and Garden Grill restaurants inside. You should be able to find something to do here while you wait for the rain to stop
Always make sure to carry money with you in case the MagicBand system goes down.
