Are you spending 4th of July at Walt Disney World? Here are 6 patriotic things to do at the parks in Disney World! The best thing is, most of these can be done all year long.
The Hall Of Presidents
This patriotic attraction has an amazing history itself. Hall of Presidents was envisioned by Walt Disney, however technology for the attraction was not advanced enough. Therefore Walt Disney worked with his team to create the very first Audio-Animatronic in human form. Resulting in Mr. Lincoln with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. By 1971, all Presidents in American history had been created for the Hall of Presidents. Since opening, every president has been added to the show and guests can view them all as Animatronics on one stage at Magic Kingdom.
The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History
Playing at various times throughout the day in Liberty Square of Magic Kingdom is, The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History. Watch American history retold through hilarious sketches and songs. The Muppets tell us about the midnight ride of Paul Revere, the signing of the Declaration of Independence and more. Come see this 10-minute show for laughs, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! Guests will see Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and The Great Gonzo. Look up to the windows, outside of The Hall of Presidents, to catch glimpses your favorite Muppets in the show.
Flag Retreat
At Magic Kingdom, any guest can stop to watch a wonderful Flag Retreat. Watch the American Flag retire for the evening every night at 5pm on Main St USA. Interestingly, this is the only real American Flag in the park, therefore the only one that needs to stay in co ordinance with the U.S. Flag Code. This code requires U.S. Flags to be displayed outdoors sunrise to sunset only. Look closely and notice the other flags contain an incorrect amount of stars or stripes, preventing the need to bring them in each evening. Watch this beautiful display of patriotism daily.
The American Adventure Show
Travel around Epcot’s World Showcase and stop at The American Adventure pavilion for the American Adventure show. Be inspired during this 28-minute retelling of America’s history. This audio-animatronic show highlights notable people and events in American history.
Voices of Liberty
Listen to the beautiful Voices of Liberty in the American Adventure of the World Showcase. Dressed in 1800s costumes, this 8-member a cappella group will fill the hall with patriotic music. This group performs throughout the day, lasting 15 minutes. Songs include: “America the Beautiful”, “This Land Is Your Land”, “This Is My Country”, “You Raise Me Up”, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”, “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and “Let It Go”.
