If you want to stay on Walt Disney World property, you should choose Pop Century Resort. Here are 9 reasons why Pop Century is the perfect value resort.
9. Efficiency – Pop Century runs efficiently considering the size of the resort. The lobby handles a crowd very well with multiple desks to check in/out. The food court is very large with seating for hundreds of people. And Mousekeeping keeps your room clean and your toiletries stocked so that you can refresh after a long day in the parks.
8. Accommodations – The rooms at Pop Century are 260 square feet and sleep 4 adults plus an infant under 3. There is room for a Pack and Play without having to trip over it. The room features 2 double beds or 1 king bed, a table and 2 chairs, mini-refrigerator, 32 inch flat screen tv, vanity area and sink with separate bathroom, iron and ironing board and an in-room wall safe. We found the accommodations to be acceptable for our family when we visited with our 2 older kids before the baby came along. We also stayed one year in an adjoining room with my mother-in-law and nephew and found it to have plenty of space for 6 people.
7. Theme – Pop Century is themed after the pop culture from the 1950’s – 1990’s. Throughout the resort, you will find huge oversized icons that are from the childhood of adults and grandparents. My favorites are the Rubix Cube stairwell and the huge Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. Take a walk along the lake and read the signs that detail a significant culture event that happened each year from 1950 – 1999 (find the sign from the year you were born for a fun photo opp). Browse the lobby where you will find a number of collectibles in glass cases including The California Raisins and a few 8 Track Tapes.
6. Activities – Pop Century is a fun resort with Cast Members that break out into the Hustle, daily pool parties, poolside activities all afternoon and a nightly movie by the pool. If you enjoy pin trading, there is a large board of pins that you can trade from that is available between 12 – 1 and 5:30 – 6:30.
5. Atmosphere – Pop Century is a very family friendly resort which in turn makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. Families choose this resort for it’s reputation….it’s clean, efficient and on Disney property. If you have a large family, you can even book 2 adjoining rooms so that everyone stays together but for a lower price than the suites at Art of Animation.
4. Value – Pop Century is one of the least expensive resorts on property. Averaging anywhere from $118 – $230 without special per night depending on the season, this resort makes staying in a Walt Disney World Resort very affordable. You’ll receive all of the same benefits of staying on property as you would if you stayed in one of the expensive deluxe resorts, but for a fraction of the price! Because of it’s lower cost, it means that families that are saving for their dream vacation can travel sooner because the price is more attainable.
3. Food Court – While there are no table service options at any value, the Pop Century food court is amazing. It has 4 different food stations where you can choose from sandwiches, pasta dishes, hamburgers, pot roast and so much more! You can even order an entire pizza for your family for just $18 which is a very good deal for dinner.
2. Swimming Pools – The main pool is the Hippy Dippy Pool located near Classic Hall. It features 4 flower showers that spray into the pool and a kids pool with a zero entry and fountains.
If you would like a quieter pool, you can visit the Bowling Pin Pool in the 1950’s building that is shaped like a bowling pin or the Computer Pool near the 1990’s building that is shaped like a computer monitor.
1. Dedicated buses – Pop Century does not share buses with any other resort. Even though there are 2,880 rooms making it the largest Disney resort, Disney moves guests of Pop Century very efficiently. The times that we have stayed at Pop, we didn’t have to wait very long for a bus.
Skyliner – You can also take the Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, giving it quicker access to both parks.

I stayed there with my family last year. Loved everything but our rooms. They were small but we really didn’t care much since we spent our days at the parks.

But much of that is the same regardless of the Value resort you stay at. They all have excellent food courts (and some don’t have the gift shop attached, a big plus in my book.) They all have featured pools and quiet pools, with interesting activities daily. The rooms at the values are all the same size. The prices for the values (except for AOA) are all similar.

But the food court is attached to the store so there was always people walking through. Very frustrating when your carrying your tray of food. Of the 3 drink stations 2 were closed down early in the evenings. The food court was the same as other value resorts.
Because of the size of the resort we had to wait for a second bus.
Hated the views every where we turned it was trees and bushes.
But the staff were the best I have met after 10 years of staying at a Disney resort.
