Ready to plan a cheap trip to Walt Disney World? 5 ways to save on hotels include the following:
1. Stay on Disney Property in a value resort, but not for everyday of your stay. You can get a room at Pop Century or the All Stars for as low as $90 a night depending on when you travel. Consider staying a night or two on property without visiting the parks. Disney Value Resorts have awesome pools with poolside activities during the day, a Disney movie by the pool at night, a food court with Mickey waffles and other delicious treats, a gift shop, amazing theming and a lot more to offer.
Pop Century Resort – My personal favorite
During the day, you can take Disney Transportation to the parks or Downtown Disney. For an inexpensive treat, I would take the bus to the Magic Kingdom to ride the Monorail (no park ticket required). Ride the Monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and transfer to the Epcot Monorail for a ride through Epcot and back. You can also get off the Monorail at the Resorts located around the Magic Kingdom and take a tour of what they have to offer.
Every evening, Fort Wilderness hosts the FREE Chip And Dale Campfire Sing-Along. Bring your own fixings for S’mores to keep it very cost friendly. To get there, take the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom where you can board the boat to Fort Wilderness. Be sure to check out the other amenities that Fort Wilderness has to offer.

We recently went to Disney and stayed at the Comfort Inn Maingate. It was not a 5 star hotel by any means but I found a deal on hotels.com for under $800 for 3 nights for 10 of us. It included a free breakfast and was very close to all the disney parks. We had plenty of room and were happy for the most part. They also have a pool which made the kids happy. We were very happy with them. We are lookiing forward to staying at the Disney camp ground in May though ;)

I highly recommend Downtown Disney® Resort Area Hotels, esp the Wyndham, which is across the street from DTD: http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/
FYI: You usually get a better room rate if you go thru this website instead of thru the individual hotel’s.
They have their own transportation system to WDW, so you don’t need to rent a car or pay for parking at the parks.

I stayed at the Disney all star movies and it’s not a good place to stay. It was our first trip to Disney and people warned my not to stay there…. I, should of listened. It was like a frat party and not family oriented at all. Splurge for a better hotel.

I hate that you had that experience! What time of year did you travel? I have discovered that has a lot to do with it.
