I’ve missed Aldi! Since “the rumpus” started in March, I’ve been doing curbside pick-up pretty much exclusively at Walmart (the only place around that does pick up), so I was THRILLED to see the announcement that Aldi was now participating in Curbside pick-up!
Before you do your victory dance- this is a pilot program, so it’s not available yet for all locations- but lucky me, an Aldi the next town over is testing it out! I just happened to be in the area, so I decided to pop over and see what I could see.
There is a lot of signage out and about- you definitely can’t miss that Aldi has some new stuff going on!
So here’s how it works. You will go to shop Aldi online and be prompted to create an instacart account, if you don’t already have one. If you do, you can totally skip this step and just go straight to instacart.
From there, you shop as you normally would, choosing a time and day that works for you for curbside pick up. Be aware, there is a $3.99 fee (in my area) for choosing curbside orders. It will be under the “pick-up” tab on Instacart, but groceries will be delivered to the customer’s car.
You will not be able to use your own bags to get your groceries, so you will have to pay a small fee for Aldi bags.
Check out all the details on Aldi’s website.
What do you think? Will you be willing to pay a fee (or two) to avoid having to go into the store?

We have an Aldi store an hour away that does curbside pickup and I drove that far and pay the fee sometimes to vary my shopping from Walmart pickup. Some of the insta cart employees are great and a couple have been duds.
