How do you display the Christmas cards you receive? I would love some creative ideas! I never feel like my Christmas Cards get the attention they deserve.

We have a double door between our dining room and living room that has glass window panes. We hang them on those windows using tape.
We have a large mirror with a flat edge on it. I use my cards every year to decorate the edge of the mirror. I put them at a diagonal i.e. / equidistance with sticky tack so I don’t ruin the wood on the mirror. When I am done I have a scrapbook where all my Christmas cards are. I started that 10 years ago. :)
That sounds nice!
I hang them (with scotch tape) on our cabinet doors in my kitchen. That way I get to enjoy them every day AT least 3 times a day! I used to hang them on the pantry door or display them on ribbon swagged, but the cabinets are my favorite way!!
I just watched some holiday decorating shows, and they had a clever idea. If you have an tables (coffee, diningroom, etc) with a glass top you can place them under the glass. I thought that was really cute. Also, a bit more expensive idea is putting them in picture frames to display. I plan to do that with my past years Christmas cards from our Grandma’s who passed away last year.
I always use them as added decoration and hang them on the doors around my house.
I found a website last year with a great idea, but I cant remember where anymore. You take a canvas board and put strips of fabric over it in a row until the whole board is covered, then you put cute paper clips all over and clip all the cards to the board… you’d need a ton of them but i use the one I have year round for announcement, invitations, cute pictures and of course christmas cards and I really like it.
Sometimes I arrange mine into the shape of a tree and tape them together on the back. Then you can hang the tree as a whole on the wall.
OK, so this isn’t about displaying cards – I am going to try some of your ideas. This is an idea on how to recycle your cards though! After the holidays, I use a tag punch from my scrapbooking supplies and punch sentiments and pictures from the cards. Then I use these as my gift tags for the next year! Very cute and economical!
I used to display them around the house but this year we’re doing ribbon with clothes pin. We hang the ribbon by the stockings.
This is not exactly a display idea, but a friend shared with me a couple of years ago the idea of keeping the cards in a basket all year long and pulling one out per day to pray for the friend/family who sent us the card.
Oh my goodness, I had to do a double take at your christmas card, We did the EXACT same card, and the picture is all of us with Mickey in his house! lol How funny!
We won’t get as many as you but we hang them around our door frames that are in the kitchen/dining area so everyone passes by them frequently throughout the day.
i usually will put mine on the tree. find a spot where it wont disrupt ornaments, or maybe a spot where there was a bare patch that we couldnt disguise too well :-)
but im definitely LOVING the odea of hanging them up on some ribbon or yarn along the top of somewhere. :-)
I haven’t done this with Christmas Cards yet, but it worked great with cards I received at our wedding, baby showers, or when our daughter was born… Display them however you like during the Christmas season (on the fridge, tree, mantle, etc.). Then, hold onto them – and use them as part of your Christmas scrapbook. Cut out your favorite pictures for embellishments, words to use as titles or captions, etc. When my husband and I got married, I took it a step further and cut out any hand-written sentiments and made a scrapbook of just those, including a picture of our friends at the wedding. (This became part of our “sign-in” book.) It’s awesome to look back through it now, whereas I’d probably never look through a stack of cards. When I look at my daughter’s scrapbooks, I even remember who gave me certain cards (that are now simply corners of pictures, little embellishments, etc.). Hope this helps!
We have a buffet cabinet that I will set the paper cards on and the I hang the picture cards on the glass cabinet doors.
We tape them on all of the entry doors (we have 3 separate) so no matter what door you enter/exit (including our guests) they can see our cards.
I put a special tree in my foyer and I hang all the kids/family pictures that I get that year. I just use a hole puncher and tie a ribbon and hang as an ornament. This is a new tradition that we all enjoy, especially right before Christmas when the tree gets really full.
We hang them by a corner across the mantel and door sills :)
Mercy that’s a lot of cards! We usually get 30 or so, and I line them all up along the bar/countertop. Our kitchen and living room are all open, so from there, everyone can see them :)
We used lighted garland this year.I hung it around my curio cabinet and punch holes in one corner of the card and tie them on using small red ribbon. :)
Happy Holidays!!!!
Not sure about this year, I will get more than usual thanks to your exchange! I mailed your card today and I was wondering if you included yourself in every list!
We have a thick ribbon with little decorative clothes pins. We secure the ribbon on each side of a wall and then each card is clipped on the ribbon with a clothes pin. It looks really cute when it is up, and it is fun to look at all of the different cards at once.
Wow! That is a lot of cards!! We don’t get nearly that many, but we put them around the door frames and across the mantle in our house. I would like to do something different, though. Just not sure what!
What about putting them on the tree? Or making a scrapbook?
Hang around the doors in your home (be prepared for falling cards though).
A friend uses red and green yarn and hangs them near the ceiling.
