What awesome Christmas clearance deals have you found?
I was in Hallmark last week and they had marked their 2010 ornaments 75% off! I was able to get almost every ornament I had had my eye on as well as many more.
My reader Kari emailed me this today:
I just wanted to let you know that the Christmas items at my local PetSmart are on sale for 75% off. I was able to snag 4 bags of Dingos Rawhide chews for my furbaby for just $10.00 total. Regular retail $9.99 a piece! If any of your readers have pets they should head over to PetSmart to scoop up all the great deals. They also had a pretty good selection of toys and sweaters on clearance for 75% off.
If you have found a great deal, please let me know!
Wow! I have not even been looking, because I thought everything would be gone by now! I did get a couple of cheep candies for the kids last night at walgreens.
I went to Hobby Lobby about a week ago and found what they had 80% off. I got some great new pieces of decoration for next year. I was not even looking for it, just came across it. I am so excited to use it next year.
On Sunday, I went to a Rite Aid that had a really big assortment of toys. I had been watching the Christmas clearance in that store for a while waiting for the 90% off. I bought $442 worth of toys for $44 and used Up rewards and that holiday bonus $20 so no out of pocket money spent. (except tax) I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew that I will take a couple of things out for but most of it will get donated to charity. Some of the stuff I can give to charity Easter time but most I will keep for Christmas toy drive.
Wow! That is great.
I just got 6 boxes of stuff from Kohls.com delivered today! My husband was not overjoyed carrying them in from the porch, but when he saw the items and I told him the prices, it changed his outlook. I got dip mix bowl & spreader set for $2.38, square plates for $1.68, and some other Christmas dishes pretty cheap. I’ll use the plates either as cookie plates or make a gift basket with popcorn/oil or tea/chocolate, etc. – with an awesome plate as the holder of it all! PLUS, I got $10 Kohls cash to use this next week!
That sounds like a great idea. :)
I got plenty of toys at the 75% off Target toy sale to give to kids throughout the spring and part of summer! Yay!
I also got plenty of wrapping paper and ornaments for next year (I always buy the kids new ones every year) for 75% off at both CVS and Walmart!
I was in KMart today and their Christmas was 90% off. I scored all of my gift wrapping needs (6 rolls of paper, 3 bags of bows, ornaments, tags, tissue paper) for $7.00.
Good deal. :)
I found a really nice 20-pc Chicago Cutlery knife set on clearance at Kohl’s because one knife was missing. It was marked down from $169.99 to $69.99, but when I scanned it, it was only $16.99 which was 90% off! Plus I had a 30% off everything coupon which brought it down to $11.89. I bought another item with it so I could also use my $10 off $20 purchase coupon. It made a nice wedding gift for my son and barely cost me anything!
Wow! That is the best deal!
I avoided all the post Christmas shopping. It was actually a nice break. I saved money by not even trying and I’m OK with that. For this year. Now next November when i open all my holiday stuff up and don’t have a few new things as me again! :)
I didn’t get any deals….but wanted to comment so I can receive all the follow up comments!
Before kids I was a store manager for Hallmark if you wait till the end of the month all of the x-mas things got to $1-$3-$5 including the ornaments.
Awesome! I can’t wait. :)
I was in Kirkland’s yesterday and found monogram ornaments for 77 cents!! And last week my Target had their remaining Christmas items on sale for 90% off!! I found bags of Christmas bows at Target for 10 cents each and ornaments at 90% off! And of course, who can forget their toy clearance last week of 75% off??!! I spent $50 and am pretty much finished with Christmas shopping for next year for the 8 kids in the family! My favorites on the toys were:
-Thomas the Train track and locomotive $5
-Iron Man 2 Lego kit $1.98
-Littlest Pet Shop Collection $3.97
-Toy Story 3 Connector Kit $6.97
-Black & Decker tool kits $3.50
-CARS (Lightening McQueen) $4
Woohoo!! I love being overly prepared!!
Nothing! I have been staying away from Clearance sales! I know I should but I just don’t want to spend the money right now.
I know how that goes. :(
I kinda feel like Debra (in the right place at the right time for some great deals)! This is the first time I’ve ever been stocked up and ready for Christmas (a year in advance)! Target was my store of choice:
90% off:
10 baby outfits for .80 each (reg. 8.00) (for a women’s shelter)
5 sets of 3 flameless candles for 1.30 each (reg. 13.00)
20 rolls of Scotch tape for .20 each (I think reg. is 2.64)
tons of wrapping paper at 90% off (one of your readers, Kristin, mentioned a cute idea that I want to do next year — give wrapping paper and tape with a note “Hope you get ‘wrapped up’ in the spirit of Christmas!” — I just loved that idea!)
A bunch of toys for 75% off! These are my favorites:
Circo train table 20.00 (reg. 80.00)
Polar Express train 15.00 (reg. 60.00)
Toy Story Mania 12.48 (reg. 50.00)
LeapFrog Tag Reading System 11.24 (reg. 45.00)
Tonka Chuck & Friends Power Playard System 7.48 (reg. 30)
Sounds like a lot of great deals!
It’s hard to beat Debra’s deals, but I also found some great deals at CVS with their 90 percent of Christmas clearance, including packs of Hallmark cards for 40 cents, gift wrap for 40 cents, and packages of bows for 20 cents.
My husband and I went to CVS Saturday, just to stock up on the drinks that were such a great deal..and a very sweet lady said,..they have their toys marked down 90%!! We decided to check it out…CVS had no sale signs or clearance items marked in any way at all!! So there was no way to tell what was marked down… We had to scan each one to make sure they were on sale…It was one of those times,..that we just happened to be in the right place at the right time!! It was crazy!!
We got over $400.00 worth of toys (Retail Value) for just around $44.00!!
I was so excited!! I have LOTS of my Christmas shopping done for next year!!!
Wow! That is amazing!
I was lucky enough to run into this same deal 2 years ago. I went in late one night about an hour before close to pick up an prescription. Scanned a toy that was out of place because it was something i thought my niece would like and it scanned $1.49. I checked the clearance section and it said 75% off but everything scanned 90%.
Same thing happened to my sister & I when we worked at kmart. The sale set late one night and we got tons of fragrance sets & such for 90% off plus discount for working there :)
I got a Holiday Tray by Lenox for $10. I will have to check out Kohls. I love their table Linens!
Over the weekend I found alot of candles at CVS for $0.75 ,name tags $0.25 and rolls of paper $0.75.
Nice!
I’m always on the lookout for red or green, non Christmas specific items/candy that I can use for Valentine’s Day and St. Patricks Day. If candy is packaged red and green together, you can seperate the two and repackage. Unfortunately, this year I have done absolutely no after Christmas shopping. I managed, with all the grace I possess, to fall down the steps on Dec. 26th and have been off work and healing a broken foot since. Bummer. Better luck next year for me:)
I’m very sorry to hear about your foot. I hear that Target does another clearance in July :)
our walmart still had the nonperils out today! im sure each walmart will differ, but you might want to check yours. ours was an additional 50 % off the ringing up price! (they had to go in and manually change the price!)
I just found lights and wrapping paper for .19 plus digital picture frame ornaments for 1.49 at Rite Aid! 3 presents taken care of for next year – all for less than $5.00!!!
Great gifts, too!
I found expensive Christmas scrapbooking items at Michael’s for less than a dollar each. Their Christmas arrangements were 80% off!
I forgot to mention in my e-mail that in addition to the bags that were in the clearance section there were also still a few bags hanging on pegs in the regular section where the rawhide chews are kept. Only the Christmas variety were on sale. There’s a photo of the special Christmas packaging on my blog if you’re not sure what they look like.
I also just found a bunch of Glade Winter collection clearance at my local Target. The scented oil candles and refills were on sale for $1.48. I used a couple of $2.00 off 2 glade scented oil candle coupons to score them for just $0.48 a piece. Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s clearance finds!
Awesome!
I found some great after Christmas sales at Kohls. I bought some cute gingerbread-looking alphabet ornaments to go on packages next year for $.70 (after my 30% off coupon). I also found some Cookies With Santa plates for $1.83 (again with my discount) and fabric holiday placemats for $.83 each. I also hit up the toy clearance at Target, but I think that was covered in another post. Best deal I got there was some littlest pet shop plush online pets for $1.75!
