One question many parents have is how to avoid falling off a Disney Cruise ship. After all, if your child is a climber this is a major concern!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that all of the railings on the ship are covered in a super thick plexiglass with the decorative part of the railings within the plexiglass. The surface is smooth and your child won’t be able to place their foot anywhere to help boost them over it.
If you have a verandah, the chairs are movable. So you definitely do not want to let any climbing child unattended on the verandah where they might scoot the chair to the edge to use it to climb. There is a lock located high on the verandah door so children can not reach it and let themselves out the door.
On the 11th deck, there are a number of tables and chairs. To avoid children from pushing these to the edge and going over, Disney has covered the entire opening from floor to ceiling with plexiglass.
For adults, the railing is approximately 42 inches high which hits must adults well above the waist. You likely will not trip and fall overboard.
Happy sailing!
I have been on a few Disney Cruises and I have to say the parents and children were well behaved. It’s all about the parents being with their children on deck side. And I wanted to say it was a great time for all. I am 60 and loved every minute on the cruises I’ve taken.
