We’ve seen the hack floating around Facebook- how you can make adorable Baby Yoda cookies with a common, every day Christmas cookie cutter- an angel, in fact. Well of course, we wanted to check this hack out!
Bless Brandy’s heart, she happened to be making cookies the day we found the hack, so she got volunteered to test it out! Unfortunately, guess who doesn’t own an Angel cookie cutter? OUR COOKIE TESTER! Of course! After trips to various stores, her husband finally came up big- with a slightly different angel cutter than we were looking for.
Still- in the name of science (and cookies), Brandy pressed on!
So here is the hack: You take an Angel cookie cutter, cut out your cookies, CUT THE HEAD OFF OF THE ANGEL and boom- baby Yodas! However, as you can see, Brandy’s cutter has arms instead of wings- meaning she had to take an extra step of pinching the “arms” into more ear shaped shapes.
So once they are baked, you are ready to decorate! Chloe, Brandy’s daughter, came up with the brilliant idea of using a straw to “paint” the icing on the cookie, and to create overflow lines. This is a great way to make your cookies without piping bags or special decorating tools!
Because she didn’t have brown icing, Brandy used peanut butter for Baby Yoda’s clothing and chocolate chips for the color change of his cowl. She then melted down some chocolate for the eyes and used sprinkles to give him some extra Christmassy vibes.
So what do you think? Is this a great approximation of Baby Yoda? I think Brandy did a great job and she helped us out with some extra hacks in case everything doesn’t go just as planned!
(Thanks Brandy!)
