The Disney Dining Plan includes two snacks a day, but that might not be enough for a long day in the parks. Or you might choose not to have the dining plan at all and will need to pay for snacks out of pocket. Here are tips on how to budget for snacks at Walt Disney World.
Beverages – A bottle of water is $3. A bottle of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite or Powerade is $3.25. A cup of soda will set you back $3.29.
Ask for cups of free ice water at any snack stand or counter service that has fountain soda. If you aren’t a fan of Florida water, bring flavor packets to add to your water.
You can also bring a reusable water bottle and refill it from the water fountains. However, this water is not very tasty. I suggest you get a Brita Filtered Water Bottle if you plan to drink from the water fountain.
Ice Cream – You can’t go wrong with ice cream. The most popular ice cream treat is the Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar that retails for $5. You can also get the Mickey’s Cookies and Cream Sandwich for the same price.
If you are in the mood for scoops of ice cream, you can get the delicious treat in a variety of flavors at the following locations:
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in the Magic Kingdom – You can get the Ice Cream Sundae for $5.79 or a Double Scooped Ice Cream Cone for $5.29. Both of these options are also a snack credit on the dining plan.
Anandapur Ice Cream truck in the Animal Kingdom – Need to cool off? Here you can get a Soft Serve Waffle Cone for $4.49 or a Float for $4.99.
Beaches and Cream at Beach Club Resort – Get a Double Scooped Ice Cream Cone for $6.00 or an Ice Cream Soda for $5.50.
Popcorn – This classic snack is big enough for sharing! You can find popcorn stands throughout the parks. A popcorn snack is $4 or you can spring for the souvenir bucket for $10 and refill it for $1.50 each time for the length of your stay. The bucket is larger than the snack size and it is a great place to store your spare change when you get home.
Cupcakes – Another delicious snack to get at the parks is one of their amazing cupcakes. The cupcake will run you $4.99- $5.99 and it is a snack credit on the dining plan. You can pick up cupcakes at a number of locations including Big Top Treats in the Magic Kingdom, Sunshine Seasons in Epcot or Kusafiri Coffee Shop in the Animal Kingdom.
Dole Whip – I can’t post about snacks at Disney World without talking about the popular Dole Whip. The Dole Whip Cup will run you $4.49 and the Pineapple Dole Whip Float will cost you $5.49. You can find it at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom or Pineapple Lanai in the Polynessian Village Resort. Tamu Tamu in the Animal Kingdom carries a pineapple float that tastes almost identical to the Dole Whip for the same price.
Other Snacks – Snacks average $3.99 – $5.99 each. I would budget $9 per person per day for 2 snacks or $5 per day for 1 snack. If you come in under that, yay!
