I woke up this morning and read an alert on my husband’s cell phone as I put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for my 2 year old. At Walt Disney World, at Grand Floridan Resort, a 2-year-old was playing in seven seas lagoon and they are reporting that he was dragged into Seven Seas Lagoon and they can’t find him! I am just….I just can’t even. This is Disney World! I’ve never even seen an alligator there!
I am on my knees praying for his family. Realistically I know they aren’t going to find him alive. But why? Why were they letting him play in the water. There are signs that say don’t play in the water! Of course you can walk right up to it….but who would have thought there would be an alligator waiting to attack!
Oh my goodness. Just get on your knees and pray. That is all I can say. I am so upset. It could have been us. It could have been you. It could have been anyone! This is Disney World. I was just at the Magic Kingdom yesterday. I rode the ferry boat and looked out at Seven Seas Lagoon and The Grand Floridian.
Oh sweet Jesus. Just please be with this family.

I’ve been an annual Passholder for over 15 years . My daughter now works there as she attends college. We are devastated. Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed many dangerous behaviors that occur because visitors forget that Disneyworld While a wonderful place to visit is still a place in the real world and dangers exist. Yes there are gators on property and even one by splash mountain in magic kingdom. There are wild snakes and other wildlife on property. There are also people who visit the park who should not be around children.
I implore every one who visits ANY PARK park here in Florida to come enjoy, laugh, have fun. Yet, watch your children and belongings. Stay safe as you would in your hometown.
And pray for this family and this devastating loss that they have had happen. Peace.

Praying, praying, praying. Stayed at Contemporary and we, with small children walked close to the water because they wanted to play in the sand.
