Who doesn’t love a bowl of chili this time of year? Take your cozy fall favorite a step further and make your own chili popcorn seasoning. Great for a fall movie night or football gatherings, this popcorn seasoning is simple and uses the chili seasonings you probably already have in your pantry. Just mix the ingredients together and add to your popcorn to taste. This seasoning blend can also be added to french fries, rice, beans, quesadillas and of course in a bowl of chili! With dozens of possibilities this seasoning blend is great to have on hand.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional if you don’t want it too spicy)
- 2 tsp salt (I use sea salt)
This recipe seasoned 8 cups of popped popcorn. I use an air popper so the popcorn is dry when popped, to be sure the seasoning sticks I poured some melted butter in with the seasoning and tossed to coat. Olive oil or melted coconut oil also work well to ensure your seasoning sticks to the popcorn instead of settling at the bottom of the bowl! If you have any left over store in a zip lock bag and keep with you other spices for next time. Enjoy!
