I am mentally and physically exhausted! This morning in the wee hours I went on the massive Thanksgiving food plus regular food for the next month haul. I will have to go back for produce and some dairy every week. It was so MUCH food. Seriously, I doubted I would have space for it all. Even though I am a week over due for my monthly trip. I had lots of extra leftover things from previous trips. We worked on eating all of that up to make space for this trip’s food. After my 2 hours in the store. I had to come home and rearrange my regular freezer to fit some food from the huge freezer so that we could make space for the Turkey and Ham. I know what you are thinking, “Ham at Thanksgiving this is blasphemy!” My store has a deal if you buy a ham you get a free turkey up to 12 lbs. I took advantage of that promotion.
If your local store has a digital coupon program make sure you check it out before heading to the store. This time of the year stores like to give lots of freebie’s or high value offers. For the past 2 weeks H-E-B my local supermarket has released new high value coupons via the app. Such as $5/5 good on anything, $2/$2 or more of bread, and so on. I never get those high value coupons in the mail. Last week I was surprised to find a flyer with H-E-B high value coupons. Today I used the digital version’s. When I go back for produce and dairy I will use the paper versions. Since I would of purchased the items the free product coupons where for and spend the amount needed for the basket coupons anyways. I decided to add the savings into my Universal fund. I did already complete my Couponing to Christmas fund or the money would be added into that.
Do you check your receipts before you leave stores? I do! More times than not I find mistakes. Usually its something small like a coupon didn’t scan for $0.25. Today I really scored big. They charged me twice for chicken drumsticks that where marked down. Once the regular price and the other time the discounted price. I kindly walked up to a supervisor and told her how I was overcharged. She quickly looked over the receipt and gave me a gift card with $5.13 the cost of the drumsticks. Plus, I bought things for the Ibotta bonus. I choose $10.00 for redeeming 30 offers. They haven’t credited yet. That is why they are not included below.
High Value Digital Coupons – $17.00
Gift Card for being overcharged for the chicken – $5.13
Total $23.13
I need to earn $11.67 a day between now and Christmas to complete my goal of paying off the hotel by 1/01/20. You can read more about that here.
