I can’t wait to see pictures of Brandy’s family at the party! She is very goal oriented. When she sets her mind to something it happens. If Brandy, on her tight budget can make this dream happen so can you! Don’t get discouraged by how little you earn. Instead focus on the potential you have to earn and save from creative ways. Did you know I have an ebook I wrote just on that? You can follow along as the Darlings a typical middle class family, work my plan to pay for the Disney vacation of their dreams. The best part I teach you how to do it debt free!

I’m back and ready to coupon to my next adventure! I went to my first (MNSSHP) Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this past October. Truth is I wasn’t 100% convinced I was going to love it. It seemed like a really overpriced way to trick or treat to me. Kristin kept telling me how fun it was and how I needed to go at least once. The stars aligned last October! I help Kristin with Lularoe as well as Swagbucks. Kristin takes her family vacation in Oct. every year. Lularoe is a very hands on business. Kristin had asked me to go stay at her house and work while she was away. As soon as she asked, I knew it was now or never. I decided to go for it! I did coupon to that trip as well.
Within an hour of the party starting a light bulb went off in my head and I got it. I understood why MNSSHP is so special to so many. Not only do you have the Magic Kingdom rides, you have special characters, special shows, and my favorite the Boo To You parade. All while being in a perfectly Halloween themed Magic Kingdom! There is creepy sounds, but not to creepy. The rides, fog, jack-o-lanterns, Halloween music, and treat or treating all add to the uniqueness of this event! My favorite thing about the whole party, which is really surprising to me, was the characters. I am not a HUGE Disney fan. I like it, it is fun, and something I enjoy but characters really aren’t my thing. Before even at non Disney places, I would be just fine with out characters. During the party I found my self more interested in meeting characters then riding rides. I had planned out which rides we would ride, and was 100% focused on riding them up until we meet our first characters of the night Jasmine and Genie. There is something magical about seeing the characters and being fully immersed in their story that left me craving more.
I had such an amazing time! Before the party had even ended, I knew next year I wanted my whole family to experience it. I talked to my husband about it and we decided that if we could coupon our way to the party it could happen in 2019. You all know I love a challenge! This will really be a challenge. Our household has 6 people in it. My husband is in school full time. I am the only one working in my home. It is a tight budget with no wiggle room. There isn’t any extra money to help cover this trip. If it happens it will be only because we will have couponed to it. I thought what better way to motivate myself then to share my progress with you all!
I bet you are wondering what is this going to cost! We would arrive on a Friday. Spend Saturday enjoying local low cost attractions. I am not really sure yet. As it gets closer I will figure it out. Sunday would be the big MNSSHP day. Monday my family would fly home and I would stay at Kristin’s to work. My grandma lives with us but she will be paying for herself. I do like to round up. I like to always have excess. Nothing is worse then saying no to something on vacation. We are very frugal all year long. During vacations we are looser with our wallets and enjoy the finer things in life just a little. The kids will save their allowance for souvenirs. I am not budgeting for those. Kristin is so generously allowing my whole family to stay at her house. That makes lodging free! Below is my projected budget for the 5 of us.
Plane tickets for 5 people round trip – $400.00 each or $2,000 total
Saturday plans to be determined – $200.00
MNSSHP – $625.00
Food & Drinks – $400.00
Total: $3,225.00
I have 10 months to work at it! In order to make this happen I am going to have to earn or save $322.00 a month. This is not my first rodeo! I know some months I won’t hit that number other months I will exceed it. The important thing is that I stay the course, continue working at it, and not get discouraged. My husband really wants to make this happen. So much so that he has even starting using Swagbucks. I was shocked when he asked me. If he sticks with Swagbucks that will really help us reach our goal!
(Thanks, Brandy)
