I haven’t made a deposit to the Disney Fund in a few weeks due to the tornado that hit my town on April 27th. I have been so busy with relief work, that I haven’t had a chance to actually deposit this money. But I have time now….
$85.04 – Right after I lost the baby last year, I decided to redo my kids bedrooms. I had hubby pick up 8 packages of border paper (4 for each room) at Walmart and then I stuck them in a closet and forgot about them until last week. Luckily I keep all of my receipts, so I returned them to Walmart and received cash back that I am depositing into the fund because it is “found money“.
$25 – One of my neighbors had to go out of town and asked us to take care of their pets for them.
$1 – From Miller High Life
$20 – cash left from the grocery budget over the past couple of weeks
$50 – Walmart gift cards the kids received for their birthday. They both wanted to save it for souvenirs at Disney World. I spent $50 at Walmart on groceries and took the $50 in cash out of the budget and added it to the fund.
$5 – Earned a Target gift card during a sale week. I spent $5 at Target a few weeks after the sale and took $5 in cash out of the budget and added it to the fund.
$20 – Referred 4 friends to Plum District and earned a $20 Target gift card. I spent $20 at Target on groceries and took the $20 in cash out of the budget and added it to the fund.
$20 – Earned 2 $10 BP gift cards. Since they expire before the trip, I took $20 out of the gas budget and added it to the fund and spent the gift cards.
$10 – Earned a $10 Red Robin gift card from Pampers. I am giving the card as a year end gift. I took $10 out of the budget and added it to the fund.
$8.57 – Spare change that accumulated from breaking our dollars.
$55 – My nephew had to have braces. My mother in law gave me the cash and I charge the braces on the Disney Rewards Visa Card. We earned $55 for Disney and then I paid the balance off before interest could be charged.
$299.61 added to the Disney Fund. $1337.82 saved since June 1st, 2010. (Goal is $3,000.)
You can see all the previous deposits here.
Don’t forget that you can now showcase your own Disney funds via the Couponing to Disney message board! (See how to do it here.) You are more than welcome to link to your thread in the comments below!

How old was the receipt from Wal-Mart? I have tried to return something with a receipt after 93 days, and they wouldn’t let me since their policy is 90 days (even though the item was something they still carried at full price). I could understand if it had been clearanced. I even would’ve taken store credit. Just curious for future! Maybe I got a grouchy employee?
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
It was 6 months old. Sometimes it really depends on the employee! I’d try again a few days later with someone else if I was you. :)
Amanda says
Amy, return it without a receipt. You can at least get a store credit.
This is there no receipt policy. ( I cut and pasted from their site.)
What’s Walmart’s No Receipt returns policy?
Walmart’s No Receipt policy applies to items returned in a store only. You have the option of a cash refund (for purchases under $25), a Gift Card for the amount of the purchase (for purchases over $25) or an even exchange for the product. We also follow any manufacturer’s warranties. You can make up to three No Receipt returns within a 45 day period.

Once we get back from a small family vacation in June, all extra money is going towards a trip to Disney in January 2013! Hoping to stay at BLT, so we’ll need to save a lot for this trip of a lifetime.

Excellent deposit.
Starting this week I am getting our fund back on track. Along with friends backing out on us for our October trip (they are DVC members and we were staying with them) I have had to deplete our fund of almost $700. We were trying to still go in september but with both of my husbands parents in very poor health (he has been in the hospital for 7 going on 8 weeks and she has been in the hospital twice during the same period. 2 different hospitals, 2 different towns) we have depleated our emergency fund. We decided to take our disney fund to replenish it and look at a 2012 trip for our family.
I use all of your tips and love them! You are an inspiration to all of us that follow you. Thank You For All that You Do!

I love seeing how you break everything down! We are so exciting to be going to Disney World in September also! We are going to be staying at the Port Orleans and taking advantage of the Free Dining Plan. My goal is $3,000 before we leave and so far we are half way there. :)

Kristin,
I can’t remember, but when is your next trip to Disney? I know you went in January, but something has me thinking that you’re going again this year… ?
