I’m sorry the deposits have been few and far between. In all honesty since we found out we are pregnant with #3, Disney hasn’t been the first thing on our mind. But the shock is wearing off and I am dying to get back to Disney. Here’s some money that have accumulated in the past 3 weeks:
- $15 in rebates from SC Johnson
- $9.99 Schick Hydro Rebate
- $33 in rewards dollars earned on my Disney Visa
- $8.62 in spare change
$66.61 added to the Disney fund. $346.26 saved since June 3rd!
You can see all the previous deposits here.
Don’t forget that you can now showcase your own Disney funds via the Couponing to Disney message board! (See how to do it here.) You are more than welcome to link to your thread in the comments below!

Did you stop saving for Disney?

We are planning our first ever trip to Disney World and I just stumbled across your site a few days ago. I was so excited with all the information and tips, since I am totally clueless about Disney World and it’s all a little overwhelming! We are so excited and can’t wait to surprise our girls with the news at Christmas. I look forward to using your savings tips, haven’t tried them yet, but you’ve got some great ideas. I’m going to get a Chase Disney Visa and have signed up with several of the survey companies you suggested. I’m not great at couponing, but I’m inspired to get better!
I was wondering if you could give me an average of what you spent each day at Disney World. We are a family of 4 and will be flying, but I was thinking of keeping the airfare separate from my Disney budget because we are doing two trips in one.
Thanks for all the great info!

Congratulations on #3! We decided to take a “last minute” trip to Disneyland for Thanksgiving with my husband’s side of the family so I’m rapidly saving up to pay for the expenses! Luckily the hotel and tickets are bought and paid for! Now I’m just paying for food, gas and normal expenses! Thanks for the encouragement!

Sort of off-topic but wanted to let you know we’ve been saving extra cash, change, rebate money, etc. for a little less than a year… and we’re up to almost $1000! We’re using it for a trip we’re taking to help our friends launch a church in Toronto later this month!

hey! how do you get your disney dollars from disney visa? thanks!
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
You have to call them and request a rewards card. They will transfer your Disney Dollars to it whenever you want. It’s the Disney Visa from Chase. http://www.chase.com/disney

I am curious how you add the rebate money in there. I know some rebates will make the items free after rebate. So you spend cash OOP at first, but get the money back by rebate later on. For me, I would think to put that money back in my account as I had spent it OOP. And any leftover that was a money maker would go into savings. Is that how you do it, or just any and all rebate money goes in? Wouldn’t you be spending more in the long run if you didn’t put what you had spent OOP back in your account though? Hope this makes sense! Thanks!
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
Any and all rebate money goes into the Disney fund. I already spent that week’s grocery budget (where I bought the rebate item), so no need to reimburse myself for what I spent on that rebate. Each person does it differently, but I would like every penny I possibly can go into my fund instead of any of it getting absorbed back into my budget.

I am wanting to try and start saving for a trip to disney also. My question is how much do you say you need to have to pay for the trip in cash? What is your budget amount?
Thanks
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
Alisia,
I haven’t set a budget amount for this trip yet because we don’t know when we are going. I am surprisingly pregnant with #3, so we are likely looking at next fall. I’m not sure yet though. So without knowing the time of the year or how long we will stay, I can’t really set a budget amount.
Last year my goal started off at 2600 for 8 nights for 2 adults and 2 kids. :)
