To me, Dinoland USA is the funnest land in Animal Kingdom. It is home to The Boneyard, the best playground we have ever found, and Tricetop Spin which is a 4 seater version of Dumbo.
As you enter Dinoland, you will go under the Brachiosaurus that spans the OldenGate Bridge.
– A fun playground for kids under 10.
– A good place to hang out with the younger kids while the older kids ride Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Expedition Everest or Kali River Rapids.
– Make sure you lift up the crates to hear something cool!
– Don’t miss the waterfall as a way to cool off.
– Find the Xylobone and create a unique musical tone
– There are Cast Members stationed all over the playground. So sit back and relax and let the kids play.
– Fastpass ride. Grab one if the line is over 20 minutes.
– 40 inches height requirement.
– Might scare young kids! We won’t be taking ours on it anytime soon.
– 48 inch height requirement.
– Be sure you observe it before you ride it, you might change your mind!
– Be sure to check your times guide for show times.
– The last show of the day is often the least crowded.
– Try to sit in the back right corner.
– Animal Kingdom’s version of Dumbo.
– It will be most crowded from 1 pm – 4 pm.
– Holds up to 64 people.
– Arcade style games for the kids.
– Always win a prize.
– $2.50 per game.

I have never been but I notice that Disney World lists Crestaceous trail as an attraction in this area. Is this worth going to?

Nemo is one of my 2 can’t miss attractions at ak, everest is the other. No matter what else you do here, do not miss that show!! My 6 year old son loved dinosaur, but it is scary. It just depends on the child. I do not like dinoland for the most part. To me it is a cheap area that isn’t up to Disney standards. I hate the carnival games.

awesome insider scoop!

I rent a stroller and they gave me 2 tickets for the fair…I really can’t remember if the price is $2.50 or $3.00.

Dinosaur is my FAVORITE ride in all of disney. It is terrifying but wonderful :-) And it just totally depends on what kind of kid you have- every kid is different. My son went on when he was 4 and then when he was 5 he wanted to go back on again :-) Didn’t really bother him. But at 5 we still had to escort him out of Bug’s Life! ha. go fig. But yes, carnival games you do have to pay for. I always try to walk around it so my kids don’t see.
Also! There is a “secret” walkway from dinoland past finding nemo to get to expedition everest without going around. If you’re heading from 1 land to the other (Asia i believe) it’s the best way to get there.

Definitely heed the warning about Dinosaur! Forget the kids, I was scared! And it was very bumpy! I got a slight headache just from all the bumps and stops and turns. Also, make sure you put EVERYTHING in the nets! I had my camera in my pocket and it fell out during the ride. It had 3 days worth of Disney pictures on it! Luckily, they found it and we were able to pick it up that afternoon but have hardly any pictures in Animal Kingdom because we didn’t have it the whole day!

I saw that you had to pay for them…I thought it a bit silly to have to pay to play games in the middle of Disney, so we skipped them.
Aymee says
I believe it’s $2.50 per game.

Yes, you have to pay. It like the games at the fair. I don’t remember how much they cost but it isn’t cheap. We let the kids play and did win some stuff(cheap) animals but not everytime. It has the Basketball games you see at the fair, squirt the water on the target to see who can fill the ballon the fastest, throw a ball and try to hit a hole of a certain color, and ect…It can be missed especially if it is crowded because you are less likely to win a prize.

I was confused about the Dino-Rama too. I saw people with money and aprons but there weren’t any signs and there were just a few of those people around. We had other rides we wanted to get to and were only at AK for one day so we just skipped it.
