Are you ready to go on the best cruise of your life? I am going to tell you some of my inside information
and I hope it helps you on an upcoming Disney cruise or the one you’ve been dreaming of.
Let’s look at the Disney Dream and Fantasy. They are sister ships with similar floor plans. The main
difference is the Fantasy only goes on a 7 night 8 day cruise and the Dream goes on 3, 4, and 5 night
cruises.
The Dream takes you on a Caribbean getaway to the Bahamas and their private island Castaway Cay.
While Nassau has many things to experience, I really recommend not taking your children if under 5 to
any local sites. They are not child friendly and the port while not dangerous really isn’t made for them to
enjoy.
The Fantasy will take you on an Eastern or Western Caribbean cruise and I have been on both. My
favorite was definitely the Eastern Caribbean cruise as it went to St. Martin and St. Thomas as well as
Castaway Cay.
If you are stopping in Nassau on either trip then you should book an excursion or visit a local resort.
Now booking excursions or even visiting the Atlantis hotel will work for almost all ages. Just check
before boarding on what is available and you will definitely enjoy them. Book before boarding ship as
the good ones tend to fill up quickly.
Let’s look at the good stuff. Now when looking to book, Disney will tell you to book early as in 6 months
or more ahead and yes this can be true if booking during a holiday or summer vacation. These times also
come with a hefty price tag. When you compare the trip we just took on a 7night/8day cruise on the
Fantasy to the Eastern Caribbean which included St. Thomas, St. Martin and Castaway Cay in an ocean
view verandah room we paid for two adults, one 4 year old and one 1 year old it came out at appr.
$4200.00 dollars from May 19th-May 26th to a trip for the same room during the first week in June will
cost you upwards of $7000.00.
Guess what!!! I booked my Vacation 2 ½ months before we went and got a deal where they were selling
guaranteed Ocean View Verandah rooms the only catch you don’t know what your room number is until
a week or two before. These are the deals you need to look for because once you book and pay in full
you can no longer go back and get those discounts. (without the special the room was $5900.00)
