Saving for Disney is a lot of fun and so I asked my readers to send me their fund containers. Here are a few more that I have received:
This fund container was made by my friend Dawn who sells her items on Etsy.
This Fund container comes from my reader Kim:
Here you go, nothing pretty..but it keeps the money we “find” and save just fine! We had this after our daughter had her tonsils out and we ate a ton of ice cream with her..LOL..anyways..we just put all our change, and the money we make from recycling in the “Savings for Disneyland” ice cream jug. I keep it out in the laundry room on a high shelf to keep the temptation not to spend it from all.
This Fund container comes from my reader Christina…
Look what i found waiting on the floor of my room when i woke up for my birthday. A few days earlier i had been telling my mom how we should make a Disney box to put our money in for our dream trip to Disney World and she said no we can just use a paper envelope, little did i know she had been planning this all along for me.
Be sure to check out all the ways to grow your fund!
OMG! That is the cutest container ever…Do you like have all of the Mickey & Disney office supplies that they have out? I can imagine you having all of that – PRECIOUS!!!
I have a gallon pickle jar.
Well that nice pretty ice cream jug pictured is mine :)..and I am so excited to announce that we have got the dates of our trip set, December 8-13 2011,(surprising the kids for son’s birthday/ family vacation) and so far as of today (4-20-11) have saved…$513.00…along with a mystery amount of change which is getting to the point I can barley lift the container..probably 10 lbs or more LOL…this money saved is spending money for us at Disneyland/DCA…and to help with the trip in general. Started a mini-vacation savings account over a year ago and have the airlines tickets now saved too!!! I know when I first started it felt that I would never save enough and it would take forever…but with patients and faith..it is amazing what will happen.
Isn’t it amazing how fast change can add up?
The first year we were dating, my husband & I both worked retail & agreed we would go on a nice little get away after the hectic holiday season. We pretty much were able to pay for our hotel room for the weekend on all our spare change alone! It was crazy.
I like the ice cream bucket =) It’s very eco-friendly ;) & we did the same thing this weekend when we were collecting 50/50 Raffle Tickets for Relay for Life. Go Reusable Ice Cream Buckets!!
Love it!!! :)
I LOVE Dawn’s fund container… I think I may need to put it on my Mother’s Day wish list!
That’s a good idea!
we have a decorated jar for “cash” it has mickey and sea world on it. My daughter has a Castle with the whole Gang bank and my son has a Buzz Lightyear bank for their chore money this money is THEIR spending money. They get so excited to put money in, it gets the whole family involved in helping FIND money. Even my husband gets excited and throws some extra cash in now and then! :)
i need a box that locks toooo tempted to spend it until i took your idea of buying the gift cards at kroger and getting double fuel points for them =)
That first bank reminds me that I have Mickey Mouse Cricut Cartridge. I might have to try something similar.
Ours in just a plastic bank my mom bought my daughter that counts the money as you put it in. Our original one was a big glass jar decorated with Mickey stickers.
Cute story on how our first disney jar came to be….
When my daughter was about 3 (she’s 7 now), I was watching some Disney stuff on the Travel Channel and my daughter said she wanted to go to Disney World. I told her it took a lot of money to go. She walked away and a while later she comes running out of her bedroom yelling, “I found money! Now we can go to Disney!” She found a dime. So I got our big jar, drew a line at the top and told her that when the line reached the top, then we could go.
Aww! :)
I just use an old glass jar that my grandpa gave me years ago. I put it on the credneza near the back door so I remember to put all my “found money” in it.
We save in one of the popcorn buckets that we got the previous year from an earlier trip! Works great and the disney pics on the bucket remind us exactly what we are saving for? :)
We do the same thing. We have two of them…one in the kitchen & the other in the laundry room.
I just got that idea when I was reading Disney Family Fun last night. They showed you could use the popcorn tins to make a picnic kit (include paper plates, silverware, table cloth/picnic blanket, etc) & I said “Ya know, one of those would make a great Disney Fund bucket”
not saving for disney yet wanna wain until my daughter is old enough but we are saving because in the summer we r going to myrtle beach again
