Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, vacation specialist with Destinations in Florida, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, and I visit you each week here on Couponing to Disney to answer some Disney FAQs. I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! Choosing your resort at the Walt Disney World Resort is an important decision! The resorts are filled with so much extra magic you’ll want to plan some time to enjoy it! Disney Resort amenities and activities are plentiful!
I am staying at Pop Century, but I have dinner at O’hana at the Polynesian. Are there other things I can enjoy at the Polynesian Resort?
Yes! Arrive at the Polynesian about 45 minutes before your dining reservation. You can relax on a hammock on the beach, walk the beautiful pathways, and get some great photos in the lobby! The only thing you can’t enjoy is the pool at the Polynesian because it is for resort guests only. After dinner, return to the Polynesian beach to enjoy happily Ever After!
Do the Disney Resorts rooms have microwaves?
No, unfortunately the standard rooms do not. However, you can make a request for a microwave if you would like. Our family was able to do so at the Beach Club Resort when we stayed Club Level. All resort rooms do have some form of a refrigerator. There are microwaves and toasters for guests to use in the food court areas if you would like. If a microwave is a “must”, then I would suggest a Villa or a Family Suite option at many of the Walt Disney World Resorts.
What extra activities are offered at the Disney resorts?
Many Disney resorts offer extra special activities. Outdoor movies, campfires with s’mores, playgrounds, crafts and so much more! Many are themed to the particular resort. For example, if you are at Caribbean Beach Resort, you might make a pirate mask in the afternoon while taking a break from your swim! Just remember to check at the front desk for a complete list of times and activities.
How can I purchase milk and juice for breakfast in our room?
All Walt Disney World Resorts have a store located in them. Here, you can find sunscreen, milk, juice, and some simple breakfast or snack items. If you are driving into Orlando, there are plenty of familiar stops along the way. WalMart, Target, Publix are all on the way to the Walt Disney World Resort.
How do I get from one resort to another?
If you are heading to any of the monorail resorts for a meal or to enjoy Happily Ever After, you need to take the Magic Kingdom bus from your resort. Disembark at Magic Kingdom, and board the Resort Monorails or the water launch to those resorts. Traveling to any resort from another, you’ll need to take a park bus and transfer from there to a resort.
