We attempted to go last year, but we were at WDW when the restaurant was just opening to media & cast members. We did make reservations & go this September. We absolutely LOVED having a window seat for the MAGIC of Illuminations, but this was the ONLY thing positive! Our service was one of the WORSE we’ve ever had on Disney property! LONG wait to order & between appetizer & meal then dessert then WAIT to pay! Food was less than spectacular & dessert was worse. We won’t go back.
I went here with my husband on our honeymoon, We loved it so much that we skipped our reservation at Coral Reef and ate here again. It is not the same as the mexican food you would eat at a local place. They have elegant dishes. I cannot remember the exact name of the one I had, but it was chicken with a cream sauce and peppers, it was delicious. We had a table by the river, it was very peaceful. Loved it!
Whoops! This was meant for the San Angel Inn. I did eat at the LaHacienda once and I was not impressed. The food was not good. Go inside to the San Angel Inn!
We just got back from eating here last week. I agree with others about the restaurant being tight and cramped, but the food is great. We were seated by the windows and it was nice to look over World Showcase while eating. Our server Jesus was great and gave us plenty of attention. My husband had the Pork Mole and I had the Shrimp and Fish tacos. They brought out standard chips which kept my kids busy till our food arrived. The rice and beans were served family style which was nice. We were on the dining plan, so cost wasn’t a problem for us. This is one we will be eating at again.
We found this restaurant to be too hectic and crowded. The food tasted like fast food Mexican. We won’t do this one again.
We usually do San Angel inside and tried this last trip- the best thing is almost every table has a good view of illuminations(they turned the inside lights down) we split an appitizer and meal and got away with fireworks and a meal for moderate price. We would go again.
We ate here in March 2011 and it was wonderful! This new restaurant has a beautiful location and is nicely decorated. The food was very good and the service was probably the best we experienced on our trip. Our CM was Aylin and she was excellent! We will go back!
We ate here last February, and I was quite impressed. I’m fussy when it comes to Mexican food, only because of living in CA for so many years lol. The seating is definitely a bit tight, but for their tamales, I’d certainly go again. (Seriously, the dessert tamale was AMAZING.)
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this restaurant!!!! We went to eat there in June 2011, and our reservation was for 8 pm. We actually thought we booked a reservation for the other Mexican restaurant that is all indoors across from this one. At first we were sad we booked the wrong one, until we got in there and saw how beautifully decorated it was. We were sat at a table near the windows so we could look out on the water, and then later watch the spectacular fireworks show. My 2 year old twins absolutely loved this! They were jumping and screaming with excitement the whole time. The food is delicious here!!! My husband loves to cook specialty plates, so when we go to eat somewhere more pricey he expects a tasty meal. We both ordered the same thing, I believe it was called the Malaysian something? Sorry I don’t remember the exact name. But it was the most delicious Mexican dish I have ever had. And that’s saying a lot considering my husband is Mexican. My kids loved the tri-colored tortilla chips and the dips that are complimentary. We will definitely eat here again on our next trip.
We ate here in Dec. 2010 because we love Mexican food. This restaraunt has nice atmosphere, but is very cramped inside. We had to change tables because they sat us by the rear door, which stays open and it was freezing! The menu is limited, but the food is good! The one thing I did not like was it took so long to get our meals, then even longer to get our dessert and then forever to get our check. We were there for over 2 hours. It was ridiculous especially with 2 little boys who got restless after waiting for everything to come. I am not sure if I would eat here again because there are so many great places to eat in Epcot.
Our family ate here in Maarch 2011. We were on the dining plan so price did not matter. It was really delicious and we received a lot of food even for the higher price it would have been. We were over an hour late for reservation because of transportation problems and they still quickly accomodated us. Will gladly go back the next trip.
My husband and I ate here on our honeymoon. It was our first dinner of our week stay and by far the best. We are true Mexican foodies, and this restaurant is very impressive. I will admit that it is a bit cramped, but the general atmosphere is cool and eclectic. The restaurant is right on the water, so we were able to enjoy the fireworks! It is our favorite restaurant at WDW, but without the dining plan our dinners typically run us over $100 (with a few alcoholic bevs).. it is a MUST TRY if you enjoy mexican cuisine.
We went in here expecting a regular Mexican place that you would go to at home and it was nothing like that. The place looked nice but the food was really high and very limited. I am a picky eater so I did not even eat from there because there was nothing I liked. The chips looked like regular chips you get from the grocery store. I will not go back here when we come back to Disney.
We have ate here on two seperate occassions. The tables are fairly close together, but the atmosphere is really neat. The food is not typical of our americanized version of mexican food. my family also prefers the quick service mexican restaurant across the street.
We dined at this restaurant last year …this is a high traffic restaurant and there were people and servers moving around us constantly. The tables were close together…maybe to accommodate more people they moved in move tables/chairs? Since we had never dined there before, I really can’t say if this is how it always is or not. The food was OK..nothing spectacular. I can’t remember the name of the quick service Mexican restaurant across the street (the one that you can dine outdoors) but my husband, children and myself ALL preferred it to the San Angel. It was closed for renovations while we visted last time. But the time before we went to Disney we ate on two separate occasions!!!!!!!!
