Do you enjoy the Moderate Category of the resorts at Walt Disney World? If so, you may want to check out Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is undergoing a refurbishment, and will be updated to Queen Size beds and some rooms will now accommodate five guests, much like Port Orleans Riverside. Only the Pirate Themed Rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will remain the same, accommodating 4 guests with two double beds. This is one of the larger resorts at Walt Disney World, but also holds fantastic theming and a lot of charm. Today we are going to answer some Frequently Asked Questions about Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
What area of Walt Disney Word is the Caribbean Beach Resort located? Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is located in the Epcot area. In fact, it is right across from Disney’s Beach Club Resort. I did not know this until our stay at the Beach Club. When you exit the Beach Club Resort, the entrance to Caribbean Beach is right across the street! So if you are looking for a resort close to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach is a great choice.
What is the theming of Caribbean Beach? Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is themed after the beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Aruba, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, and Martinique. It is broken down into six villages, all with their own unique theme. Each village has laundry facilities, pools, beaches, and some have playgrounds.
What is the best village to request at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort? At Disney’s Caribbean Beach, if you want to be close to Old Port Royale, which is where the main pool and dining is, you will want to book a preferred room. These are in Martinique, Trinidad North, Jamaica, and Aruba. Pirate Themed Rooms are not in the preferred category. They are located in Trinidad South, which is as far as you can get from the Old Port Royale area. Don’t let that stop you from booking a Pirate themed room!
What is the Pirate Cruise? The Pirate Cruise departs from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort’s Barefoot Bay on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. It is for children only~no adults. Children ages 4-12 are allowed to participate, and reservations are suggested. It departs at 9:30 and returns at 11:30 AM. Lunch is provided as you embark on your pirate cruise!
How can I get the most out of my stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort? First, make a building request at your online check in day. Since this resort is so large, it’s a good idea to make a request. Plan on spending an entire day at the resort. Disney’s Caribbean Beach has several playgrounds for children, a small water play area for little ones, and the feature pool is fantastic. You an also rent a surrey or bike and take a ride around the resort.

We’ve also stayed in the pirate suite. Some people complain that they are too far from everything, but i disagree. It was nice and quiet in Trinidad South and the walk to the main area was not that long. The whole resort is beautiful, so walking and enjoying the scenery is just an added bonus to staying there!!

Great timing. I will be there on Saturday and I am specifically going there for the 5 person room for our family of 3. We stayed at port orleans riverside a few months ago and my daughter LOVED the pull down bunk. It was the highlight of the hotel as far as she was concerned. Something so small and silly is the reason we are trying this resort this time, haha.

They now offer queen beds and some even have a murphy bed hidden to allow 5 people per room. The pirate rooms are supposed to remain doubles however.

We have stayed in the pirate room. it was a ways out– and well worth it. the walk to the main area is really nice- especially in the morning and it is near a beach for the kids to play in the sand (there is no water, but signs say don’t go in it). after a day at the park, the bus drops you off close to the building so that was not an issue. the room itself totally added to the magic of the vacation. i love this resort!

When did they start serving lunch on the kids’ pirates cruises? That’s never been the case for us. My kids have been given light snacks like some Goldfish crackers and a juice box, but never lunch. Is that exclusive to the departures out of Caribbean Beach? My kids have done the Yacht Club ones, and the Port Orleans Riverside one this past May, and no lunch was served. Just light snacks and a bottle of water.
