Whether you’ve got one pooch or a whole Dalmatian plantation, we can all agree: Disney dogs are man’s best friend.
A question we see a lot in the SavEars is: what Disney name should I use for my new dog? Well, those looking for a pawesome name can quit hounding the internet and the melan-collie, because there are Disney doggo names galore.
Okay, but seriously. Kristen B from the Future here. I just finished compiling all names and when I wrote there were “names galore” I did not know what I was getting myself into! Originally, I had planned to include wolves, hyenas, and other assorted dog like animals, but there is no room for those pipe dreams. There are too many dogs. Lady and the Tramp II has like 65 named characters. And they’re all dogs. Back to your regularly scheduled post.
Just like when we posted about purrfect cat names, lets break this thing down a little. We’re not just talking any Disney name for your pup. We’re looking at names specifically given to dogs in Disney properties. To help inspire your name choosing, we’ve gathered up our favorite Disney dogs and sorted them into categories for maximum perfect fit finding.

We have a rescue terrier mix and he’s also part Wookie. His name is Chewbacca but we call him Chewie! He looks just like his namesake!!!
