Roast beef, provolone cheese, sub rolls and some au jus is all you need to make a deliciously quick dinner or lunch. French dip sandwiches are juicy, flavorful and easy on time and money. This recipe can easily be doubled to feed a crowd and pulls together in minutes.
Ingredients
*1 lb. deli sliced roast beef
*½ lb. provolone or Swiss cheese
*2 packets of au jus mix (2 packets will make A LOT of au jus, if you don’t think you’ll dip the sandwiches 1 packet will be plenty)
*Sub rolls or bread of your choice
*1 lb. deli sliced roast beef
*½ lb. provolone or Swiss cheese
*2 packets of au jus mix (2 packets will make A LOT of au jus, if you don’t think you’ll dip the sandwiches 1 packet will be plenty)
*Sub rolls or bread of your choice

Prepare the au jus according to package instructions using a large enough to pot to also hold your roast beef. Simmer the roast beef in the au jus until warm. Slice your sub rolls and lightly toast in a toaster oven or using your ovens broiler setting. Add one slice of cheese to each side of the roll, place under the broiler once again just until cheese has melted, being careful not to burn the bread. Add a few sliced to of roast beef to one half of the sub way and top with the other half. Serve with a small bowl of au jus for dipping. For an extra kick serve with some horseradish mayo, mix ½ cup mayo with 2 tablespoons of horseradish and salt and pepper to taste.
