Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, and I’m back with another round of FAQs about traveling to Walt Disney World. I am truly enjoying being here on Couponing to Disney each week. I hope my posts are helpful and informative. Feel free to leave comments with questions, or even suggestions of your own! This week, I want to answer some FAQs about meeting characters at Walt Disney World. After all, part of the Disney magic of any vacation is meeting your favorite characters up close. Some of my favorite vacation memories are of my children at very young ages interacting with the characters. Minnie playing peek a book with my 8 month old, and then a year later Sorcerer Mickey letting my daughter give him a kiss on the nose are two of my favorites. And my 10 year old twins, they still love to get autographs and interact with characters!
FAQ #1: Where can my daughter meet Tinkerbell?
You can meet Tinkerbell at Magic Kingdom park, in Adventureland. As you enter Magic Kingdom, follow Main Street USA to Adventureland . Just as you cross the bridge into Adventureland, to your right is Tinkerbell’s Magical Nook. Sometimes even her fairy friends join her here as well! You can also see Tinkerbell in the Main Street Electrical Parade at the very beginning of the parade. After all, it is her pixie dust that she leave behind to light the other floats :).
FAQ #2: Where can we meet the most characters in one place?
A Disney character dining experience is best for meeting several characters in one place. Chef Mickey’s, Cape May Cafe, and Tusker House all allow for the classic characters to interact with autographs and photos right at your table. Akerhaus and Cinderella’s Royal Table are great options for visiting with several princesses at once. However, if a character dining experience isn’t in your touring plan, I’d suggest the EPCOT Character Spot, as well as Pete’s Silly Sideshow for meeting several classic characters at once. For princesses, a great option is the Princess Meet and Greet at Magic Kingdom. This is also a Fast Pass Plus option currently.
FAQ #3: How can I make a character meet and greet more personal for my child?
When your child gets his or her special moment up close and personal with their favorite character, it’s a moment you won’t forget. Dress your child “like” that character. For example, if meeting Minnie Mouse is part of your plans for that day, dress your daughter in a red dress with white polka dots. Or, before you arrive, order some customized Disney themed shirts for your children. Princess dresses are always a hit with the Disney princesses. Anything you can do to make your child stand out to the character will get them all sorts of extra attention.
FAQ #4: Where is the private meet and greet for Disney Visa Cardholders?
Disney Visa Card holders can experience a meet and greet just for them with Mickey and his best pals. You’ll need to have your Disney Visa with you, to present to the cast members at the entrance. It is found in the Innoventions West Building in EPCOT. IT is open from 1-7 pm daily. You never know which characters are waiting for you. But, there is a Disney Photopass Photographer in there, to take your photos. You also receive a FREE 5×7 photo just for visiting and being a Disney Visa card holder.
FAQ #5: How can I make a character meet easier on my child and on the character?
No matter how excited your child seems before arriving to meet his or her favorite character, sometimes nervousness and shyness can set in. Don’t be disappointed if your child is shy with the characters. Have your camera and autograph book ready. Don’t be afraid to step in, and lead your child by the hand, as well as interact with the character yourself. If your child sees you are at ease, then it’ll make it easier for him or her.
